Now about the route, I do not know of any complete NEC routes that are released for trainz at this time.

I think the NEC route by Nueman is the only one ... and it is not exactly prototypical, and needs track straightened, and swappped out with a better looking 3D track

As a project goes this would be quite an undertaking due to the complexity of the region and the shear number of assets needed even with generic buildings and basic scenery. Add to that the length of the route from Washington just to New York City, and there's no way it would run or even load for that matter.

It would probably need to be broken down into 2 to 4 separate routes from DC to NYC

No doubt, and even that would be a tough route to build. Heck, I'm having a tough enough of a time working on a small route which probably has about 9 or 10 miles of track on it. It's not so much the objects and the track, it's as you know getting everything to look right and putting the stuff down the right way.

If one asked nicely from Felix (flusi737), he could have a very long, complete NEC route. However if I recall correctly, Felix built it for TS12 SP1.
