EMD's 16-567D3T vs. 16-567D3

I have socalwb909's 'SOU GP35 (HH)' <kuid:334896:100505>, and the 'EMD 16-567D3 Turbo Engine Sounds', <kuid2:334896:53000:2> shows to be faulty and I have been unable to find a solution to the problem. However, I have Norfolksouthern37's Norfolk Southern F units and they have 7007's 'EMD 16-567D3T Diesel Engine Sounds', <kuid2:74779:53001100:2>. The question is: What's the difference? Does the extra 'T' mean Turbocharged? If so, how much does the sound of the 16-567D3T differ from the 16-567D3?

It is unfortunate that no one ever took the time to answer your question. I think I can help, if you still need an answer. The 16-567D3 already has a turbo so I don't know why they added the T next to it. Also, if you are looking for total realism in your engines, the NS F units no longer have the original motor they were built with. They have been extensively rebuilt by M-K shops and then later Altoona Works. First of all, the 567 found in the GP30's (567D3A) were the first in a revolution for EMD at the time. The EMD 567D3 engine is the first turbocharged engine that they had made for locomotive use. I figure the sound may vary some between the two, because #1: There is a chance they actually put 645 parts in the assembly. 645 parts are interchangeable with portions of the 645 engine, and even better, you'd be surprised how many GP30's are out there running with actual 16-645 engines in them as this is one of the best locomotive engines ever created. Second, if the ones in the NS F7's still remain stock even with rebuild, the engine is roots-blown (Naturally aspirated) and is always going to have a distinctly different sound than turbocharged engines. As you know, the 567's that you find in GP9's and SW1200's and etc etc, have more of a growl to them than the turbo ones. Turbos always have a signature whine to them regardless of manufacturer. I can pick a turbo out from a roots blown engine any day anytime because of that fact alone. Just go listening around a few times, and you'll even be able to pick out what locomotive is running from a distance simply from sound. I can determine SD60's from SD70's because both of their whines are distinctly different. Most of the SD60's have very loud whines and often sound like they are dying, while there are isolated occurrences of this on SD70's, I've noted it being more prominent on SD60's (Also SD90's like to do this too, I've noted several ear piercing whiners)
