ELECTRIFICATION OF ALL RAILROADS

Aw, no one has spoken about how none of the freight cars are rated over 79mph... If we wanted High Speed Rail, we'd need to build all new freight cars. Joshua

US freight train speeds will never reach speeds much beyond 79mph (not in your lifetime) ... it is just not a safe speed for heavy freight railcars.

Congress doesn't even want to fund RR's, and RR's operate on a day to day basis, shoestring budget, making repairs to rollingstock, locomotives and infrastructure ... Only becase the FRA makes the RR's do so, and forcing the RR's to follow their FRA regulations.

There just isn't the interest of RR's upgrading their lines, and retrofitting to electrified catenary, as the cost is so great ... The RR's plan is: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it ... "The trains rolled in with old technology 20 years ago"."The same old "guick patch ups" to a half broken infrastucture, is good enough" ... Just run more trains, faster, with fewer employees.

Not In Your Lifetime !
