Editing Rolling Stock Locos in Routes and Scenarios

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I attempted to edit a harbor master scenario and found all the rolling stock and locos were gone. My idea was to simply change the roadnames to the ones I like.
Is there a way to just keep the rolling stock and locos and just replace and edit as you go?
Also, is there a way to edit that there is some standardization in the title. Some start with roadnames, others with type of car, others with payload.

Using Content Manager (know as CM), highlight the asset you wish to edit and select Edit, then Edit in Explorer. From there, open the config.txt file and change the user name to whatever you choose. Save the config.txt file, close the explorer window and then in CM, select Edit and then Commit.

This may be to do with the scenario looking for that named train/consist. If you use a session and change the name of something then the session may not work. The scenario/sessions look for the name as it was originaly placed. Try a station name like London and then change after opening the session to london. Trianz will still look for the first way it was written so commands will fail.

Hi
I'm TC3, but it seems you may have fallen into a trap I tend to fall into after a long editing session on a "Session".

If you can see trains in whilst in "Surveyor", then you are actually editing a Session.
If, when you try to save, you actually overwrite just the Route, all your trains, portal timetables and none built-in rules will be lost. Basically, it is too easy to replace a copy of a Route that has associated Sessions with just the Route and so lose your Sessions.

In TC3 you have to use "Save As" NOT "Save"

The "lost" Sessions will still be visible in Content Manager, but I have yet to attempt to re-associate them with their Route. I'm sure that is possible in Content Manager though - just too much else there that interests me at the moment!!
