East Kentucky

The route looks simply stunning as is. Also agree with Jade's point about optimising performance/frame rates where vegetation is concerned.

Back to the route, other than the obvious, I like how it looks like it's adaptable to multiple eras. I'll definitely be running my L&N payware on it.

I gave in, curiosity got the best of me.

I've got 2010EE coming through snail mail. There are several reasons I bought it, this route being high on the list. Looking awesome as always, Andy.

You mean like they all look like cartoons of real trees....that kind of unwarranted reason?

Yeah...you might as well add Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd to your route. Wait a sec...I know...how about Mario?:D

Cheers,
Fred

P.S. Sorry Andy...keep goin' the way you're goin'...great looking route.

Honestly not sure if comparison shots establish anything or not, but what the heck....

Essentially the same Surveyor view from EK2 and EK3.

Andy, that is a fantastic screenshot comparison. You are an inspiration!

Very nice comparison shots there Andy. Looks great, and much more realistic. I'll have to pick up 2010 when your route comes out now! lol

Looks great

Your new version of EK looks wonderful. My old computer groans looking at V. 3. My new computer can or should handle it much better. I don't have Trz. ten right now, but I'm still enjoying EK2 and have made some changes in it along the way. I've taken out one of the tipples and put a engine service in its place at Cars Fork--I think that's the name without looking at it. Some trees have been added, however, the route runs real smooth so I don't want to mess up the frame rates. Thanks Andy. This is by far my favorite route. One of these days I will buy 2010 or a later version. Right now, 06 works fine for me.

2010.....rules...

 You cheated yourself Dermmy, you have already supplied EKv2....

We already have a completed route, your just teasing us with the future!

It's not possible to make a scene that looks anywhere close to the pic above with the mess of trees that 2010 has given us so far. This pic looks like a photo.

I've seen a reference here about Tundra's Trees. What are they and how does one get them?

 ...that's subject to what we have now vs what will happen afterwards.

I like the far hillside effect!

........ Be aware though that in TS10 the trees, shrubs etc are restricted to 'Compatibility Mode'....
Andy :)

Fret not Derm, I trashed 2010 some time ago. Horrible frame rates. And in compatability mode, fps is even worse. Makes my eyes water!!

Thanks for the links.

Andy, quick question.

Can you give an estimate on how much more trackage there will be in EK3 compared to EK2?

Not much! At a guess a couple of miles from the EK2 Western portals to Hazard, then Hazard Yard, then a couple of miles more to get a couple of portals far enough away from the yard to not cause operational issues. That's all that is planned at this stage.

I had originally intended to include a bit more of the westbound main plus the Lotts Creek Branch from Hazard, but at this stage I think that will be saved for EK4. I am sick of trees and want to get back to Clovis for a while....

Andy :)
