East Kentucky

Ahhh - the old 10345 problem! Kill it off with 'Delete Missing Assets' but its presence tells me that you have cloned the route! And that's where this gets really weird. Here's the full story:

The route is DEM based via HOG. HOG paints broad texture lines on the route to mark the location of road/rail/rivers etc. Even after the HOG textures are painted over they remain underneath the visible textures and absolutely definitely have a detrimental effect on performance. I delete them by using a texture I call 'HOG Killer', <kuid:203465:10345>. Hog Killer is used to 'Replace Assets' for all the HOG textures, then it is deleted from CM, the route is loaded and 'Delete Missing Content' gets rid of the 'sacrificial texture' from both the route and the config. But if you clone the route the unused texture pops up in the config. I call that a bug...

Andy :)

Hmmm, you've taught me something new today Andy, I didn't know that kuid existed, so, if I clone my route and it pops up in future I'll know now what it is, thanks a lot for the info.

Ive been train simming more than 4 years now in the MSTS community and I switch over to Trainz just this past week and I have to say. Out of all the years I have been train simming. I have never seen such a great route when it comes to detail. Thank you for creating such a great looking route. Here is a single shot of my run.

BTW, I will be posting my other 10 shots that I took over on the US thread.

If you think that is great, try downloading the speed tree version, it is even better!

Would the bridges here he suitable for a '50's themed route??

Jamie

The bridge itself would be fine, but the abutments might be a bit too modern looking for the '50s. Something like this might be better (re posted from a few pages back)...

Thanks Mick!

I can convince myself that I can live with SpeedTrees right up till I flick back through a thread like this.

Hmmmmm.....

Agreed Andy. I live in Pennsylvania and I see trees everytime I open a door or window. Here in PA we're up to our arsses in trees, and I have yet to see a tree that looks like any Speed Tree I've ever seen.

Pennsylvania was named what it was because it means Penn's Woods, and I can guarantee you that if William Penn had seen any trees that looked like Speed Trees he would have named the state Disneyvania.

(A bit before Disney's time, but the word play works)

is the a speed tree version a quick update or a whole separate route ?

Actually Jamie in the sense Kon means I think it is an 'update', not sure though if I would say 'quick'! The basic EK3ST route is identical to the original EK3. Same trackwork, same loadouts, same everything except Pofig has created a great number of entirely new trees just for the route. While it is still fundamentally a 'replace asset' version of EK3 there is truly a lot more to it than that...

Andy

Did you know

Andy,
I had the developer settings turned on in driver last night. I use the original EK3 with the billboard type tree replaced by speedtree. 17331 instances of speed tree was the top figure recorded.

Thanks I am gone to Download it later today...

Dermmy,

I decided to take run on the EK3 for the first time since I upgraded to TS2010 and installed all my old content including EK3. Looks like I'm missing this bridge in a few places. Of course CM doesn't report it or anything other assets missing.

Any idea what it is? Thanks.

Copy/paste from the checkrail download page:

Missing Bridges. You show no missing content, but there are dashed white lines where there should obviously be bridges? A very simple config fix will resolve this problem: Locate the assets <Kuid:46819:38129> and <Kuid:46819:38132> in Content Manager. Open for Edit (Ctrl+Shift+E). Double click config.txt. Locate and delete the line 'name', easiest way is to place the cursor at the beginning of the next line and backspace till 'name' is gone. Save and close config.txt. Close the Edit window. Commit the assets (Ctrl+M). Should be good to go...

Andy :)

Faulty...

 The bridges in question are build 1.3, therefore the config.txt file does not have a mesh container...before 2.4, the asset was lucky to have a config.txt file!

You can open them in Content Creator Plus for updating, delete all the entries with an X-box to the right (they are empty anyway).

RMB on the folder icon and select 'add a mesh'. Name it: default. LMB on the square box next to the empty entry pane & the folder will open, select the .im mesh.

While the folder was opened I added a thumbnail from the TS....\User Data\cache\thumbnails Folder for easy reference, saving as a $screenshot$. I added the thumbnail container in CCP.

The bridges show, but the lack of a direct reference to the mesh will eventually prevent it from appearing.

I had a problem last night with the Proto Clinch Elkhorn Extension route with a (another) bridge missing it's mesh, this issue reminded me to fix it...I have had the problem before, so this is how I fixed it.

Nice shots Pofig!

I wish I could get such a clear background over that draw distance, but no hope on my machine...

Andy :)

He is alive. Do not disappear for a long time Andy. I'm starting to worry about you.

1 GB DDR3 graphics card. 2.5 km distance. FPS 15-20. I also would not refuse to update.

Dermmy & backyard,

Just getting around to trying your fixes. Got it figured out now. Thanks.
