Excellent the line that would become the Bluebell Railway in part. Keep posting, I'm sure there will be interest.

Thanks guys... That's all the support I need to keep at it

@amigacooke the bluebell part is what I'm starting with now :) the screenshots show kingcote and west hoathley stations

Good to see this route being modelled, but I'm wondering about the trees. I'm not sure how foliage goes in TS Mac, but the billboarded trees and flora do appear to have quite hard edges in your screenshots. Are there any 3D trees available in TS Mac? (I'm assuming that speedtrees aren't available for this format.)

But keep going, this is a line people will want to see!

Yeah there is 3D trees but the problem is finding them in the object browser to the left, in trs2004 which I had previously there was genre browser where I could select "foliage" what I need is some British 3D trees for download, speed trees are available but once again it's knowing the names of them all for the finder

(If it helps, TS Mac is a mac adapted version of TS2010)

Looks good, mward5291.

Is it for TS Mac only? If so, can it easily be ported by anyone into TS2012 and windows?

Thanks,

Rob.

Thanks Mart. Well, if speedtrees are enabled, perhaps you could try out some of the excellent versions by mcguirel available on the Download Station, the 'ultratreez - broadleaf' ones are particularly good at providing 'block' foliage (ie. where you submerge a large part of the tree to create a 'bush' effect from the top of the tree.) It's unfortunate, but since the alphas issue appeared in TS10, billboard trees have never quite looked the same due to the 'hard edge' issue.

i should think, providing you have all the dependencies you should be able to import this into ts10 and 12 for windows... All the additional content is through the content manager so I can't see why not

thanks for the tip Paul, I shall have a look into that tonight when I get home from work. I did start looking at some beech speed trees last night and it looks better but I need to research more foliage before I decide on the prolific tree of choice

TS Mac has no officially supported method of exporting content of any kind.

UPDATES!! Going West to Grange Road

So i decided to go west, and use speedtrees on pauls suggestion, let me know what you think...

Just wondering how speedtrees work for you in TS Mac? Have you noticed any loss of frame rates?

If not, try out the following speedtrees on the route and see how it looks:
M: UltraTreez-BroadLeaf 01 (Performance/MP),<kuid2:72938:43156:3>
M: UltraTreez-BroadLeaf 02 (Performance/MP),<kuid2:72938:43157:3>
M: UltraTreez-BroadLeaf 03 (Performance/MP),<kuid2:72938:43158:3>
M: UltraTreez-BroadLeaf 04 (Performance/MP),<kuid2:72938:43159:3>

Only a small amount of frame rate has been lost but that's only if the camera falls into the trees. 'm still downloading the broadleaf trees, for some reason it's taking a decade to download :(

Another thing to remember when you're placing trees in Surveyor is to have random rotation of assets set in options and then to set them at different heights in order to minimise the uniform look that's always a risk when using a fairly small set of trees for a route.
