East Broad Top Route

Honestly not sure of what DEM program was used. I know it's the DEM route anyone can go on the DLS and grab. That's how it all started. The issue I've found with DEMs is that they work well for plains and route with gentle hills or mountains. But they tend to fail when it comes to any types of cuts, fills, or valleys. The EBT DEM is ok. It's definitely not the best but it seems to have roughly the right heights. Funny thing is when it comes to the grading, I've found 4 different sources for the grades on the railroad, and they all vary from one another on grades in certain sections. Specifically on the grades between Saltillo and Robertsdale (the mountain section). So for me, it's just a matter of following the DEM combines with implementing the grading charts. 1 thing I did not factor in was that the grading charts use ruling grades and are not continuous grades. So I fear in the sections already done I may have lost some of the more intricate grades. But honestly it's still a ton of fun to run. And it does follow the chief engineer's grading chart blueprint, so that's about as close as I'm going to get. As for an updated DEM, I've thought about it, but doing so would cost me a ton of progress so at this point I'll probably stick to the old one.
