Rather than answer a PM:

This cpu will happily execute 32 bit and 64 bit instructions so win 7 64 bit will be fine.

You might want to push the memory upto 6 gigs if you are going TS2009/10 which can use both cores otherwise 3 gigs is fine for TC3 and below except I think it will only use a single core.

Thanks John much appreciated.
Dual channel mode for the 6 gig of ram or 2x3 in single ?

If your motherboard supports dual channel then think in terms of 2 by 2 gigs and 2 by 1gig. Where possible I'd keep memory you have already and perhaps switch two memory modules. Have a peek at crucial.com and see what they suggest. If it supports triple channel then 3 by 3 gigs.

Thanks again,
I have the ram in dual-channel (2+1)(2+1) allthough the 2nd channel is not used yet. The mmx stuff from crucial. Seemed a good place to keep it safe.
I agree with your comments about the 10000 rpm drives, they do load trainz faster but no difference otherwise.
