Hi Johnk,
Thanks for the link, am going to have a look after this reply.
I usually have a defrag program running in the background, so it shouldn't take too long to defrag everything.
My setup is 'different'.
The "C:" drive had a hiccup some time ago,
so I installed the OS (XP Home SP2/3) onto my "F:" drive,
where I install most progs.
I also have a "G:" drive in a cradle & 2 DVD burners ("D:" & "E:").
So for TS2009 I created anew partition (60Gb; calling it "H:")
& labelled it TS2009. That's where I'll keep 'all-things TS2009'.
So far all is well, & I've installed the SP1 ok.
Next big test will be downloading & installing the new textures (350Mb?) from the DLS.
As I am not at all familiar with TRS2006 (apart from I know where the tin box & service patch CD is; in the bottom drawer!),
CMP at present is somewhat daunting.
Yes I have TRS2006 but never installed it.
The thought of crashing my system with TRS2006, & necessitating reinstallation on perhaps a 'regular' basis has never excited me.
Maybe the World folder with it's 20Gb size has something to do with that?.
It certainly will, for TS2009!!!.
But so far it loads ok & seems to run ok.
So am looking forward to the 'other side' of a stiff learning curve!.

BTW how do you manage to speak so eloquently, with "tongue-in-cheek"??.
I usually get thumped. :hehe:
