Duke Power Plant Reopened to Norfolk Southern?

I heard that the Duke Powerplat in Lincolnton, NC will be serviced by Norfolk Southern again this month from some local railfans, is that really so? The Duke powerplant is just south of Hickory, NC.

If it is so, the Asheville-Salisbury line just may look a little more prommising to railfan again...

I'm glad to hear that but one thing still perplexes me, what caused the power station to close to begin with?

I did some research, having lived in that area years ago, and I think you're a bit mistaken. Recently, Duke Power stated that they were going to complete the old Cherokee Nuclear Power plant that got started in the 80's but was never finished. I'd wager, with all the materials and goods that would need shipped in for that, what you're hearing rumors of is related to that.
