Drivers remain after train has gone through portal

the age of the train
Hello to anyone who can help.

After building my own route through Trainz 2010, and then running the route, I have noticed a slight problem.

I have set my AI trains to run under STW command, from one end of the route to the other, and most AI drivers follow the route and exit through the portal, taking the driver and the train through the portal and off the route.

However, Sean and Scott remain in my route, even though there train has left the route through the portal. It does not happen with any other drivers, only with Sean and Scott.

I have replaced Sean and Scott with other drivers to see if that helps, but was just wondering has anyone else encountered this before, and if so, if you managed to fix it, how did you do it.?.

Many Thanks

That's a weird one, Joe. I've never seen this before.

I wonder if they're scared about going into that unknown world at the end of the portal!

Hopefully this 'bump' will bring this up to the top so someone else will have a go at this problem. Some of the good ones disappear before anyone has a chance to respond.

Many thanks Shane for your reply,

Just a quick update, I have done an Extended Database Repair, and I think that seems to have fixed it, I am still testing to see if the two drivers now go through the portal, and I will let you know the results.

I am usually not keen on an Extended Database Repair, as the last time I done one, it reverted my Trainz 2010 back to it's original state, all downloaded content and routes had gone, any new routes had gone too, so I managed to back all my routes and content up first, I don't want to get bit a second time.

Once again, Many thanks Shane for your help, it is good to have you on here at the trainz forum.

Hello to all, this is just an update, with a few questions added.

Can rolling stock with coupler faults cause (Tunnel Portal Null Exception Failure) basically the tunnel portal fails to become a tunnel portal, it does not except trains, and just becomes fixed track that derails trains instead, making the tunnel portal un-usable.?.

Also

Can too many trains in one route cause Tunnel Portal exception problems, for example, producing a driver, that was not assigned to the portal in the first place.?.

I assigned Tom to drive all trains from the portal, but when there are a lot of trains on the route, a train is produced from the portal, with a different driver and no commands, for example Eric or Dave or someone not assigned to the portal will appear.

Doing a full extended database repair seems to work, but then after an hour or so, or when there are around 20 trains on the route, I get the above errors again, and when I do another full extended database repair, no errors are found.

I have set the Tunnel Portals to produce trains every 20 minutes, on a route that takes 30 minutes for the train to complete, and they run under the STW command, but I am running a route from the DLS, called Bough, which has some minor errors, I am wondering could the route be causing the errors to the portals.

I am going to do some further testing on a route I built myself, and see what happens, I will keep you informed, but if anyone can help me, then that would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks for taking time out to view my post.
