Driver setup - AI???

AI will drive a train via trackmakers, and portals, by automatic control, you just sit back and watch it drive (by all the multitudes of commands that you meticulously enter into the drive schedule).

Duuuuu yeah I forgot what AI meant.

Tell me, how do you do a setup so trains move themselves. I cant seem to do it after hours of trying?

In Surveyor, place a train, then Main Menu > Edit Session > select Driver Rules, click Edit > Assign a driver > click on Select a train, and select the loco from the list, close the box > Click on the little green arrow > Select Navigate to and choose your destinations > click the little green arrow again and select the next command (usually load) > Repeat as many times as necessary > when finished, click the tick button on this box and then the next box. Click the Driver button on the top next to "Main Menu", click Save, if necessary name your session the next box, or if not, click "Overwrite session" and save, click once more to save route, wait for Driver to load, sit back and enjoy. It isn't as long-winded as it seems.

When I click on the little green arrow, it just 'beeps' at me.
R/click on the driver (face in box on left) and give your first instruction, keep adding until your done. If you forget one you can insert by r/click on "the little green arrow" and add as normal.

Be aware that if you tell a train to go from A to B under AI control, while it will generally eventually get from A to B, it usually will *not* follow the route you were expecting, unless you lay out said route in nit-picking detail ... :)

I too have been trying to get one locomotive to move but can't. Came across this post And got all excited but I don't have a 'navigate to', I have a 'drive schedule'? Or am I in the totally wrong place?

Here is what I am doing.

In surveyor I created a straight track and placed a loco on it.
I click on 'Main Menu/Edit Session'.'
I click 'Driver Setup' and 'Edit'.
I select add driver, pick a driver, select the loco, and 'AI Driver'.
If I click on the little green arrow I have the following: Drive Schedule, Load, Unload, Couple, Run Around Train, Wait For, Notify.

This is as far as I am getting. Help please, before I kick the dog.

HI;
Beside the main menu button there is Quick Drive, edit session rules, content search filter, wire frame
Edit session rules is where you can set up your AI to follow your commands. You can add additional commands to the ones you are now seeing, scroll through all the pages and it you will get it figured.
Thats what I do in Trainz is run AI, thats what I enjoy. The ficticious route I am now building (think its my 4th map I have started, learning just like you) takes 90 min with no stops to make the circuit, and so far I have 17 trains running on a double track, running 10 industries, and Im having a blast. My AI can sometimes have brain farts but I have run a 3 hr session with no problem tie ups. All the best.

Ok, I think I finally got it figured out. One important thing that wasn't mentioned is you need to have something to drive to! I placed a track marker and Woola!

Thanks everyone.
