After exiting driver and not saving, when returning, I find the route has returned to the start, but the consists remain wherever they were when I stopped.
I just tested that in TRS22 to confirm.
There are a few things to keep in mind here.
When you exit Driver from the top menu, you will be shown a Save dialogue with 3 choices -
Don't Save,
Save, and
Cancel.
- Selecting Don't Save will exit to the Session Selection screen or Content Manager (depending on how you started Driver) without saving the current state of your session.
- Selecting Save will save the current state of your session as a Driver Session, also called a Driver Game. You will be asked to enter a name for the Driver Session, otherwise it will use the session name followed a date/time stamp, and then exit. A new item will appear on the Session Selection screen or in Content Manger with the name entered - this is the Driver Session.
A Driver Session will store the current "state of play" when you saved. This includes the position and activity (stationary, moving, driver command being executed) of every consist, the state of every Session Rule (completed, was-completed, does-complete, running), signal, switch, products and product levels (in industries and consists), time of day, weather, etc, etc.
If you later restart by loading the
Original Session from the Session Selection screen or Content Manager everything will be reset to what it was when the Session (not the Driver Session) was last saved
when in Surveyor.
If you later restart by loading the
Driver Session (remember its name may be identical to the Session name except for a date/time stamp at the end - this can be easy to miss) it will start with everything set to their "state of play" when the Driver Session was last saved
when in Driver. I suspect that you may have saved a Driver Session, even inadvertently, at some earlier stage and that this is the cause of your issue.
