this issue has been discussed here few weeks back and in same thread i also post my problem but no one gave any attention to it so thought of making thread of mine
here is the link to thread in which thread creator has same problem like mine
http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=79817

i have draw distance set on 5000 and playing on resolution 1280*1024 but few weeks back ths problem arise that when i enter in driver mode items placed only few meters ahead are shown and rest are invisible and it seems that infront is no baseboard pictures tells best
i though i have placed some faulty assets so i delete all the items i placed on that day but problem is still here and this problem is with all routes not a single one even on built in

this is normal when i stay outside cab

That is quite weird. Looks like a graphics problem. Have you run Trainzdiag.exe located in the BIN Folder.

Welcome to the world of draw distance limiters. Unfortunately, Auran knows of this situation but accepts it as a rquirement for Ts10 and 12. It is normal, so don't worry about it. Don't bother to argue with Auran either, many of us have in the past but it gets you nowhere. Just accept it.

i cant understand your comment
this happens due to some faulty asset that i placed on route
have you checked the link that i posted in which okhiu overcome the problem by deleting track?

This sometimes has something to do with the content you are using. Older content can cause this issue because the graphics engine within the program will throttle back the graphics because of the load on your system to prevent crashing.

To figure out what caused this, try removing the more recent additions to that section of the route to see if this fixes the problem.

I too had a problem with this, and by removing and replacing a bridge - I went from an old spline bridge to a new fixed object one, the draw distance improved in that section, as in my trees and the bridge its self appeared as it should in the scene.

i have removed all the things that i placed on that day except texture bcz they cant be removed but still no go
is it possible to find which content is causing this problem

in a situation where you could compare it on the outside view yes. but the cab view will never see as far as the outside view. this has to do with zbuffer accuracy. in order to show the cab geometry that is close to the viewpoint, and the outside geometry that is far away the distance has to be cut so objects dont flicker through each other.

Objects don't flicker if your machine is powerful. That was one of the points that was "discussed" Just search "Draw Distance" in the forum. You will find the threads where complaints about this issue were made. Yes taking out inefficient older assets help, but the limiter stasys, and as Norfolksouthern37 said, the cab view will never match the outside view. Cheers.

@norfolksouthern37
i agreed with you that cab view show less scenery and i agree but in my case that less visibility is abnormal
in past i got similar problem with one of my town as whenever i arrived on that town this problem occurs so i deleted the whole town of about 3 baseboards every thing comes to normal
thats why i am insisting that this is due to some faulty assets
check this pic this is taken from cab view and as you are seeing the bridge now if i place my locomotive at this place i am unable to see even this bridge

same case with this pic
i cant see background now which was normal before

kamran: Check your slide tool and see if you have things set too high..I always keep mine closed down except I might keep 1 notch on the good fog..

@bobcass
i have st every thing to max and if the pic you posted is on my route i am sure i can get only half of the mountain rest will be invisible thats why i said mine case is abnormal
@norfolksouthern
you have given me very good point about old splines
i will check them and report back

kamran: You must remember that the more you see the computer sees the same picture..Therefore you must set your slide tools lower..What your computer is trying to tell you is I'm getting over loaded..Example if turn your camera onto the full length of the Train it is taking in more polys..If you turn so your showing the side your camera is taking in less polys, so there fore you computer Will have a better frame rate..Also I would suggest to you that you check your drivers are up to date..:wave: :wave:

A little tip which might work.

I know we are on different versions, but this might be worth a try.

If I overload Trainz with too many assets the view has to render these on screen. In my older version this tends to crash the game. At least you are getting something.

It usually happens in Quickdrive. I can usually get over it by changing the position of the view in Surveyor to a position where the view is covering fewer assets. I go into wireframe view and once in there change it to the more detailed Alternative wireframe view (toggle it using Alt-W). That enables you to check how much terrain and how many assets are visible.

Whilst you’re in Alternative wireframe mode you can see through the terrain to whatever you have built in the distance, both topology and placed assets, to the limit of your draw distance setting.

What you can also do whilst in wireframe is adjust your Performance Settings. You can then see how the reduction, or increase, on the slider bars effect the appearance/disappearance of your terrain and assets as far as the Game sees it.

This probably doesn’t solve your problem, but it might go some way to help decide which part of the performance trade-off you want to select on your Peformance Settings.

Hope it is of some use.

Cheers

If you have to redownload, Kamran, use a download helper such as Free Download Helper, which N3V has recommended. This will help your downloads from becoming corrupted by a poor internet connection.

John

i always download my game with the help of download manager
btw can you provide me the link of that download helper that is recommended by auran
