Hello,

I have the following problem. Please check the pics below

Here is the field of view for 1000m and detail low

Now for 3000m with detail normal - you can see a slight increase

But when i switch to 5000m and details high, everything disappears....:'(

-driverfov=63.9863
-DefaultAutoMip=none
-DynamicVertexBufferSize=4194304
-DynamicIndexBufferSize=196608
-VBO
-width=1024
-height=768
-freeintcam
-keepparticles=1
-keepallresources=1
-autopilotsignaldistance=400
-intro=disable
-fastmenus

What am i doing wrong?? :'(

This is just a guess, not knowing your video card and processor and RAM, but it looks like there may be object problems causing your trouble. If any of those objects are structured incorrectly, or perhaps in need of compatibility mode to work, they can cause strange things to happen when your route is drawn.

Further, if you use compatibility mode, i believe the draw distance has a limit that is fairly low.

Which version of Trainz? plus full PC specs would be useful.

One obvious thing is your resolution in Trainzoptions.txt should be the same as in the games options yours isn't.

You also according to the screenshots have an error, you need to click the red button at the bottom right and find out what that is and clear that problem first.

Common cause of bad draw distance are bad splines. Numerous posts on here about how to deal with them. http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=75962&highlight=uncached_alphas

@clam1952

The resolution of 1024 x 768 is preset by Auran in the default trainzoptions file on TS2009 & TS2010 although it was not in the default file in 2006. You say that the resolution in the options screen should be the same as in the trainzoptions file, so does this mean that if you select a different resolution you have to edit the file? Since I have not seen any reference to the need to change the file, could you please advise where you have seen this instruction since I have assumed that the program would give precedence to the data in the options screen and use the resolution in the file for initial boot purposes only.

Trainzoptions.txt is the main coding and overwrites any other options.

There are dozens of post about this just use the "Search" up above or better still google it.

This is TS2009 SP3, i have 3GB RAM DDR 3, 1GB Video 128b and a triple core AMD Phenom Processor at 2,3 Ghz. The weird thing is that it didnt happened before, yesterday happened...

In which case you may need to look at whatever you added between working properly and not working properly, probably that red error button will tell you.

Not sure what a 128b video card is? can you clarify manufacturer of it?

Hi,

Its ATI Radeon HD4670 1GB. The 128b is the BUS memory.

Anyway, i noticed that in some areas the scenery appears correctly, in some it doesnt. I have tried to identify the items with the worst buffer (most of them are FMA spline grass) and will try to change them with something else. I have also managed to fix a lot of items that had errors or warnings, maybe this will help too.

The red dot comes from the signalling script that has some erros in it.

Finally managed to find the cause of the problem, and unfortunately the SAM tracks where causing it. I have deleted almost all the splines in the filed of view (see pics above) and draw distance was still not showing as set. But when i finally got the idea to replace the tracks with something lower, the terrain showed up immediately. So, be careful with the SAMPLAIRE tracks :)

...So, be careful with the SAMPLAIRE tracks...

Could you post the KUID(ss) of the SAM track you were using? The reason I'm asking is that his original tracks were reskins of those by Rumour3 but later ones had original textures and, as far as I can see, more emphasis on detail in the LOD.

I use R3's tracks and I was wondering about "messing with" the LODs. Thanks

Chris (windwalkr)has said that many of the switches in the trainzoptions.txt file no longer have any effect in TS2009 and up.
