Why when i go in a locomotive cab (or any other train interior) the draw distance decreases? And how can i avoid/change that? It's quite annoying.
it doesn't work with ts2009-ts12Does Trainztuner help with improving the "In Cab" draw distance
also doesn't work properly in ts2009-ts12.zfar=_____ (6 miles or more)
Yes another trainz "feature" I'm disappointed about too. I've read those posts. Just seems counter intuitive to me but I don't know what's behind the smoke and mirrors in trainz. This feature was my first disappointment with the software. I complained, and was taken to school by Windwalker about the need for this feature. I still find it disconcerting to ride in cab and miss seeing scenery objects that are not actually that far away. I no longer use cab mode for this reason.![]()
What is the minimum distance to the nearest point of mesh, when the mesh wouldn't be rendered (or rendered incorrectly) to obtain draw distance up to 2500 metres?would require us to remove 3D cab views

Are there any cabin, where the levers are so close to point of view, that they are sliced off? Approximate distance of the closest part in the most cabins equals 1 metre . I don't think, that to obtain 75 cm "sphere of cut polys" is so bad, that you discard a possibility to get it.Any objects closer than this will simply be sliced off, and we don't offer much in the way of 'sleight-of-hand' here.
compared to what? The tracks are placed in certain distance from ground, and if you divide 'precision' by two, users will only have to place them in doubled distance. Only!Lower z-buffer 'precision' results in an inability to distance-sort nearby objects, leading to flickering- for example, when the track starts disappearing into the ground.
To clear this up.
This is a limitation of the video card technology currently available. You need to complain to the video card manufacturers about this one... Unfortunately, very few games require both detailed interior and a long draw distance, hence they are unlikely to improve this area.
We could give you a much longer 'interior view' draw distance, however this would require us to remove 3D cab views (you would either have an invisible cab, or a flat 2D image to represent the cab). This is not an option we see as being viable, and as such we reduce the draw distance in the cab view instead.
Yea I agree seems to be sorta bogus explanation. Why is it that FSX can have a 3d cockpit with more working controls then any cab in trainz can possibly have and a lot longer draw distance(no not in the air either, you can be on the ground with modded hi-def textures) and see everything rendered on screen outside, and then when you change views into the cockpit you notice no difference in view distance...S0 Zec, you said it's a problem with the video card. Then why did we not have any problem with the in cab draw distance in earlier versions of Trainz even with older video cards. Just sayen.
