Download Station

I have been enjoying Trainz 2006 for years and recently purchased Trainz 2009 World Builder, which I installed on an external hard drive. The program works fine, but I cannot use Download Station. I purchased a 3-month First-Class Ticket, but when I try to access it, get the message "the server is busy, try again later." This has been going on for three days! Also, the search parameters disappear as soon as I click on them, making getting what I'm looking for very difficult. Can anyone tell me what's going on. Thank you for any help!

Thank you for your help, but I have no idea what CM/CMP DLH or UN & PW refers to or where to find these. I tried to re-enter my personal information. Yes, my FCT is wasting away and it's my fault, but I am missing something! I have used the Download Station in the past, so don't know why I'm having such a problem. Any further help will be most appreciated!

Thank you, Michael in Iowa

09/10 has CM-Content Manager ... 04/06 has CMP-Content Manager Plus, which has the DLH-Download Helper, wich downloads the DLS-Download Station.

In TRS2006 Start/Options ... and TRS2006 Start/CMP/Settings is were you blank out, save as blank, exit game, restart game, and retype your UN-Username and PW-Password.

Planet Auran webpage https://www.auran.com/planetauran/login.php is where you can Edit your Profile and Password (it can be the same PW as you already have) ... and can access Tickets to Activate your FCT First Class Ticket.

If Trainz is still a major PITA, and you are still SOL ... you can PM me

I'm getting pissed off with Trainz 2010! Every time I download content from CM it is not available in Developer - the title appears in red. As usual, the documentation that comes with the game is lamentable. For a specific example, I want to download a reasonably modern UK DMU - say 156, 158 or 185. None are accessible from Trainx 2010. Can anyone help before I hang myself in frustration?

Nothing is working!

Download Station continues to tell me their server is busy and I shold try back later. After three days, how much later? I have all but deleted Trainz 2006 from my computer's hard drive except for the routes I labored over - I installed Trainz 2009 on an external hard drive for enough room. I purchased a First Class Ticket for 3 months and keep getting the message the server is full. Nothing is working and I'm about ready to take this back to Office Depot for a refund. I shoulda stuck with 2006 and not been enticed by the enhanced graphics. Is there tech support available or any other resources? Thanks, Michael from Iowa

Hello Michael,

Please check the following:
- click on Serial Number at the top of forum,
- click on Tickets under the Trainz heading on the left of the new page,
- You should see the FCT you have purchased - is it activated? If not, activate it!
- Now, click on UserCP, again at the top of the forum
- click on Edit Email and password
- change your password - it can be the same as you are currently using!
- Close all applications
- start TS2009
- click on Options
- On the General Tab, ensure your Trainz Reg code is entered correctly
- click on the Planet Auran tab
- Re-enter both the Username and password
- click OK
- close everything then restart cmp from the launcher
- try to download

If your DL ticket was not previously activated you may have to wait a few minutes before it replicates to the DL server before you go through the remaining steps but this should get you on.

Since the profile you are using for TS2009 only show 09 and not your 2006 install, are you sure that you purchased your DLT under this account and not the 06 account?

Hope this gets you going!

The First Class Ticket just tells me the permission is pending, two days after I've paid for it in Australian currency, whatever that is. Nothing is working. Is there technical support? This is too much stress for a program I paid $30 for + $??? 3 month first class ticket for a relaxing, recreational activity. Should I just give it up now? By the way, I appreciate those who are trying to help me - Michael in Iowa

First, I think the DLS was down at least for a bit. I wasn't able to log in earlier tonight and I never have problems with it.

That said, this is an extremely common issue, one that needs to be fixed (or at least stickied in these forums...grrr.)

It can take 24-48 hours to activate, so if you just now followed bchester's advice and activated the ticket now, you could have to wait that long.

Regardless when you activated, the important thing is to, without Trainz, CMP or anything Trainz related running, start your browser fresh, log into your Planet Auran account, and change your password, but I recommend using the same password you use now. This has the effect of refreshing your profile on Auran's end. Then wait a few minutes and try downloading something via CMP. If you can't download via CMP, try downloading via the web-based DLS. If you get decent transfer speed, then the problem is probably with your connectivity. Sometimes access to the DLS will kick in as little as 15 minutes after activating your FCT, sometimes as long as the full 24-48 hours. HTH.

Should I just give it up now? - Michael in Iowa

Yes you should. You're probably not sufficiently masochistic to put up with the torture that this game has become. Others of us are in too deep and are too obsessive to give up now, but are seriously questioning our own sanity. Cut your losses, get out now Michael, while you still have a chance.. And if you see my wife, tell her I love her... ugh..

Still struggling with this. I went through all the suggestions. Now I am not getting a Download Station message the server is busy, but when I try to download something, nothing at all happens!!! When I try to access DLS on the web, I have what looks like the 2004 display and it's illegible. Should I continue to wait another day or so as the last writer suggested? Also, on the main menu for '09, when I click on "Forums" or "Website" nothing happens. My family is getting irate I've spent so much computer time on this. I appreciate any help! -- Michael from Iowa

The illegibility problem sounds like a browser issue. The "black pages", as the web DLS is called, DOES come up with 2004 links. You kind of have to ignore that fact. Also, don't use the "Add to Cart" feature to download and asset as the will just do nothing if your CMP isn't working; use the middle link, the one that allows you to do an FTP download.

I'm not 100% sure of this but you may need to have any pop-up blockers disabled or at least to allow auran.com to the download window appears.

I have complete pop-up protection, to my knowledge, through my Norton protection on Qwest.com

As for using the FTP, where is this middle button you speak of?

In Content Manager, under settings>internet, what should the setting be -- I have it on "no proxy server." I've tried it (tried everything I can think of) on "Internet Explorer settings" but that didn't help. Should I use "manaul proxy settings?" - if so, where do I find "address" and "port?"

Should I wait another day for things to click, do you recommend going back to Trainz 2006? If so, will my first class ticket work there?

Thank you for your ongoing help -- Michael in Iowa

You do need to make sure your popup blocker is allowing the auran.com address, as RRSignal said (if you are using Internet Explorer, the option will appear when you click the yellow bar at the top)

You probably don't need any proxy settings i.e. you should have a direct internet connection. Norton's could very well be why nothing is working for you.

I believe I am getting messages that Norton is blocking me out. How to fix that, I don't know yet, but I will address that tomorrow. Thank you, friends!

Another new user

Hi!,
I am having a problem with downloads, I can add stuff to my cart but when I click "download all" I get the message that download cannot start "because the protocol (trainz) isn't associated with any program"

I have a valid FCT
Your help appreciated.

Generally, the easiest thing is to start CM. On Vista and Win7, you usually have to run it as Administrator. Running it should create the necessary associations.
