Hi

I wanted to know if it is possible to download things without a train ticket from the download station?

You are able to do so without a FCT, however, when I was doing it without a ticket, I was only getting 5.0kbps at maximum. It is well worth the $12 for 3 months.

TRS2006 and TRS2004 just reciently became unsupported by Auran (N3V3Rfail) and they implimented a manditory need to buy a FCT for 04/06 users, in order to download at all, from the DLS. A 1 year FCT costs @ $20.00 USD...You can download from 3rd party sites however for free.

As you only have TRS2006 or older, you either need to buy a First Class Ticket or a supported version of Trainz (see http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/Trainz_Life-Cycle_Policy for the details of supported versions)

Not necessarily. You have to buy and register 2009 or 2010 at least but you can still use 2006 if you prefer it, and once you have registered 2009 you will have free access to the DLS again (well you will when the 'server full' problem has been fixed )
