"Download Content Updates" Question, Concern With What There by Default?

Just bought the Trainz12 SP1, installed. Having trouble getting it to recognize my ID and PW, it only connects occasionally. But yesterday it authenticated.

So I went exploring, and into the "Download Content Updates" section. There were several dozen items to download. Since I had not requested any of these, I assumed these must be DEFAULT updates provided automatically and assumed available for all instances of install of the program.

I started a download of all. Half way through the download stalled and did not want to finish what it turns out is a route, maybe two:

1. Mosti Belezino Day Passenger
2. Belezino - Mosti Day Passenger

Below that, and this gave me concern, I see an item with the following title:

????????? ????????? ?????? (???????? ????????)

Seriously, the title is a sting of question marks.

I had halted the download when it was stalling on the Belezino routes.

Now I have concerns about resuming the download.

Bottom line question: were these updates defaults, and I do need to download them? If not, why were they there? I had NOT found and selected them for download.

This morning, after trying about a dozen times, the program managed to authenticate and let me see the downloads option from with Train12. I also went at it from the initial start menu, where you can go to download manager, and when I selected to go from there to launch Trainz12 via the menu, it took a few seconds, and updated all the downloads from the prior day. And now a Belezino route appears. I just do not recall if it was there before by default as part of the delivered program.

Thanks for any clarification.

I am enjoying the heck out of the program. I downloaded someone's Feather Valley Route, and it is very nicely done. Since I bought a First Class Ticket for downloads, it is nice when the program does manage to authenticate for downloads.

The reason the ?s happen is because some creators (usually Russian/Chinese ones) do not use an English name for their assets, and Content Manager and the Download Station cannot handle the characters that said creators use.

Regarding the Content Updates section, this is for updates released for content that you have downloaded, or content that is built-in to the game.

Great. That answers my question. I will download the rest.

I am sure I will be back with more questions, there are a lot of levels of complexity to the program I am trying to get a handle on.
