Living across the road from BNSF's main-line, I see double stacked container trains every day and always wanted to learn more about them.
Today I went to the library and there it was - the Nov 2011 edition of Trains Magazine, and the feature article was on the history and development of intermodal freight in North America from the early days to today's double stacked container trains - highly informative and detailed. Check it out.
