Double slips and AI drivers

I've been trying to set up a scheduled passenger service between Killerau and Auringen in Schwaninger Land. There is a double slip before both of the aforementioned stations that Kenny is struggling with. (As it turns out, the one at the Auringen end is actually built like a double switch but only configured as two right handed points with no configurable path to the track I want. I'm guessing I can fix that by installing the same switch motors as the Killerau one.)

I got Kenny to travel through the Auringen one by putting a track mark on the exit I wanted him at but then he just stopped there even though the line was open all the way to the platform I targeted with the NavigateTo command. Is Kenny really so dumb that I need to track mark every junction exit point or is that a waste of time and there's an elegant solution I am, as yet, unaware of?

Sorry Kenny....

In addition to what stagecoach says, check that the track actually is connected to something. If the switch was disconnected before, it could be that there's something not connected there.

You can test that by placing a consist and driving yourself. The train you are driving will derail, or you'll come across a missing switch-lever.

With AI drivers, the AI drivers will sit there and twiddle their thumbs and post up messages such as "There's no path to the selected destination", or junction missing lever.

The message window is located on the left just above the driver's image. You can click on the arrow and expand that to see the messages in case you missed anything.
