Discovered my first caveat about loading consists into a portal:
If you set up a portal to generate trains, don't have that many consists set up to come out of it, and the route is fairly long, you will likely see the evil twins of some, if not all of your consists show up on the route.
I was messing around with the Matias Pass route that came with TRS2006 (how come I can only change the ground textures to one that is already on that route, first time I've encountered that?) and had two consists set to come out of the FromWhitefish portal.
But because this route is quite lengthy, about 45 minutes into a tested driver session, there were two of both trains running the route. Same engines, same driver, same cars, same schedule.
So for that route, rather than set up another half-dozen trains, I have removed them from the portal and placed them on the track just outside the portal. Set up their schedule just as they were when IN the portal, except I put a delay on the crude oil train so it wouldn't be following the grain train the whole way.
