the closest thing to a doodle bug I found is bendorsey's equipment... search "rail_bus" on the DLS..... personally I would like to see some more modern steel framed models...

Thanks. There is a lot there. What I had in mind was those made by Brill in the 30's that looked like a pullman baggage/passenger combine with cab at each end. They could pull a trailer or two if necessary. If I can find a photo of one I will try to post it. I've never made any content (no talent), but converting an existing combine should be doable. Maybe I'll tackle it if I can get permission to do the modifications necessary.
That warbonnet bug looks sweet, but as you are in Cali, I'm sure you see why I chose to show the SCL unit, being an Easterner. Any would be cool though. The one I showed actually ran right by where I grew up, but I was born too late to ever see it.
boy, isn't that the story of my life..... the last two generations have practically missed out on classic railfanning. rare gems like these locos are great peices of history and its unfortunate when someone who appreciates them is not able to see them operate.....
Yes. That is a good example. After 10 years of TRAINZ I am surprised that no one has created one, either payware or freeware. I would happily pay $10 to download a well detailed example. Thanks for the interesting replies.
