Does UP do tours of their Cheyenne steam shops?

MKT Forever and always
I remember a railfan friend of mine talking about doing a tour of the roundhouse and shops once, but i wondered if they still do something like that, or if they ever did at all? I'm going to be near their in a week or so, and i didn't want to waste my time driving up there to not be able to walk around.

Didn't know if anybody knew, but if figured this would be a good place to ask.

I can tell you that they do it for certain special events, because during the Lionel Collectors Club of America convention last year, members got a tour of the steam shops. (Got some pretty unique photos too). I don't really know if they do tours daily or regularly. The roundhouse, (or at least the stuff outside it), can be viewed all of the time (I think).

I have been out to that area several times and at least twice I have asked permission, and received it both times. I just asked them if it was possible to go over to the round house and get some pictures. Both times I pretty much had free run of the round house. But that was years ago ('84, '97)so I don't know what their current policy is. Cheyenne is a division point, so there has to be offices there... just go in and ask.
