Does anybody know of this engine?

MKT Forever and always
This will sound strange from the yank with a challenger as his avatar, but does anybody know of an LMS/BR Class 2 Ivatt 2-6-0? I would like it to be freeware, but i'm open to anything. they just, well, i just like them. I like their lines, i like their shape, and i'm in love with them in LMS Red livery (which i think is at the one at Canforth). They just seem so balanced and gracefull. Any help would be helpful.

I think Paul's Trainz might have one. Also, try Trainz Brittania. (Not sure of Spelling) I think they specialise in British trains. They are both payware though.

If you want, I can create a custom hornsound for one if you do find one. (Or even if you don't)

yeah, i just looked around Paulz Trainz, saw one. 12 bucks for three engines, that's not bad. I'll check on trainz Britannia too. Might just have to get one. If there was one engine in the whole world i could import and own, It would probably be the Ivatt. second would be a 9F or a Class 52 Kriegslok, just so you know:D

EDIT: looked around and found out Trainz Brittania is no more. Oh well, the Ivatt from Paulz Trainz looks good. You might look for it chuffing along The Titfield-Mallingford railway sooner or later.

oh well, a 2MT is a 2MT. I'll take what i can get...

On that note...:D :D      full steam ahead!!!

EDIT...errr...right into the chip shop (bad pun from a song) file says its only for 04 and 06. I'm pretty sure i could update it (Ben's generic steamers come to mind, and after three tries I've used to it now) but in any case...well, we'll just see how that goes. It okay if i request that horn captainkman?

Yes, you can request the horn.

I meant (to quote my thoughts):

I am going to create a hornsound for this loco whether sawyer811 wants one or not!
:hehe:

My first post using the three types of quoting! Now I can post quotes without clicking the quote button!:D

Actually it's error-free in TRS2010 and the enginespec has been obsoleted by a TC3 Version so it works fine.
You might still want to swap the enginesound out though.

captainkman: I'll be looking foward to that hornsound!

Well, here goes. I'm 51 out of 51...oh good lord. :o

That's about 2-3 hours by my experience.

Remember, UKTS is 'an illustration of how great a download site can be without 1st party control like auran have' or so they say...

If you're really really lucky, you get into the situation where your position goes up, not down, ie, you go from 51 out of 51 to 55 out of 55, to 60 out of 60... But that usually only happens if you annoy a mod on the forums and get banned, which seems to give you even lower priority than normal.

right now i'm at 12 out of 31. not bad, but unfortunately i've got to go somewhere soon. I had to opt out the last night, and i might have to do that again. oh well.

That is pretty normal for that site.
You can buy a premium account for not too much, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it for one locomotive.
I myself have one, as I also own RailWorks and download content for that simulator from there.
While it's been a while since I did not have a premuim account, I used to find the queue was best between 7-10 P.M. US central.

Good news, I got it!!! took a while (and i'm definitely storing this somewhere so i don't have to go through this mess again) but i got it. this is great, my british dream steamer, in trainz!!!

"Attention Passengers, next stop, Titfield Station!!!"

:hehe:

Thanks to you I have downloaded the pair of Ivatts, I like them a lot, but they put out a huge amount of smoke, is there an easy way to cut this down?

Regards,

Dave

Wow, well i'm glad that i helped someone else! for the smoke, Personally i like swapping the smoke file for the one on Skipper1945's new 51xx GWR Prairie 2-6-2T. I even put it on one of Ben Neal's steamers!! (it was his generic 2-6-0) I like it because it "chuffs" though more on the setting of the throtttle more than the speed its going (at least in DCC) and the smoke gathers as the engine accelerates. The plume starts out small then builds as the loco gathers steam and speed. Just go in and swap out everthing between the { and } (except the attachment point--i learned that the hard way) in the first smoke file (will be smoke attachment 0 or 1) and you're off steaming!!!

of course, you may not like that paticular smoke file, but the process is the same. Just find an engine whose smoke plume you like and copy it in. Hope that helps any.

Send me a PM if you find a smoke effect you like and I will help you put it on the Ivatts.

Sawyer811,

I have tried swapping out a file and I get NO smoke. I reread your instructions and have the following question. Do you just swap the 1st file in the smoke routine leaving in the attachment point, or do you have to swap out more than the 1st file, leaving the attachment points for each?

Regards,

Dave

you should only have to swap out the first smoke file...but then again, that might not always be the one that uses the stack.

then again (and using the GWR 2-6-2T once more as an example) there might sometimes be an underlying smoke file that you need for the smoke to work. You will have to copy that in, give it the same attachment point, and then re-number all the files after it (so, say, if it was after smoke file 0, then you name the one you copied in 1, then rename the original one 2, then original 2 to 3, 3 to 4, etc) In my expirience the GWR 51xx is the only one i know of that has this. What engine did you get the "donor" smoke file from?

Sawyer,

I went back and did as you did and added the smoke from the 51xx, I still do not get it putting out what it should. IE the same as when it is used for the 51xx, all it does for me is sends out 1 puff, then wait, another puff, then another, but no definite smoke trail, just puffs. Is that what you get? I copied out the 1st file qand left in the att point.

Regards,

Dave
