Disney Channel has picked up the rights to the U.K. preschooler series Chuggington from Ludorum.

The series will launch on Disney Channel with 52 episodes in the spring of 2010.

The series has been a successful one around the world for Ludorum, having already been licensed in 145 territories. The series airs on BBC CBeebies in the United Kingdom, Super-RTL in Germany, TF1 in France, ABC in Australia and Treehouse in Canada.

Ludorum has commenced production this year on 26 new 10-minutes episodes, which also have been acquired for the U.K. by the BBC.

Mine has been enjoying the Chuggington website with all the clips & games for some time now; I know she's looking forward to being able to see the actual full episodes!
On another note, she's been really enjoying 'Dinosaur Train' - I've been (almost) tempted to model that for Trainz :D

your children is your legacy, and it's important for any parent, to have that love and care for your children, as they will have the same when you get old!!:)

My 4 year old loves it, he's train obsessed, even more than I am. I'm in the process of scraping some money together for a holiday to Port Maddoc so he can see the Ffestiniog Railway, he'll be scraping his chin off the floor for a week!

Personaly I prefer Thomas coz it's a bit more realistic. They have a weird selection of locos in Chuggington, half a Deltic, an F7, something that looks like a SD40 thats Scottish but the front has been stepped on and the Series 1 Bullet Train all pulling trucks on bright blue track with no sleepers. Quite heavy on the moralistic side but then Thomas was at its best when it was loaded with moral tales which is good for the Kids.

Above all it has trains in it so it gets the thumbs up from me.

I've got 4 kids and they all love it (6yrs, 5 yrs and twins at 4 yrs old)!

Brewster is based on the UK class 55 Deltic- can anyone identify any of the others as prototypes...?

Coco - series 1 bullet train
Wilson - An F7 or somthing similar
Dunbar - A GP38-2 or SD40 according to wikkipedia

my mum said that we were so obsessed with Thomas as kids that my big brother at the age of 2 had a Percy birthday cake that my mum spent nearly 2 days making and icing. when it came to cutting the cake my brother wouldnt cut it or eat it, because it was hurting Percy. so mum had to change the icing colour so that the cake would be eaten and tell him that it wasnt his cake.. i wasnt much different but she didnt make that same mistake....

I'd have to Agree. ;) At least the Characters LOOK Prototypical. (FINALLY)
I mean, I saw a 4-4-0, an A4, the Trolley, Several F/E units, the Alco something-or-other and even what looked like a 1 Cab Deltic...

EDIT: Plus a British Dockside Hydraulic 0-6-0 Diesel, and what looks like a Shinkansen unit... XD
 
Did any of you watched it with your kids, etc?:wave:

It was enjoyable ... my little one was laughing and screaming, and clapping her hands at the cartoons!!:p :p :p :p :wave:
