Do We Need a Separate Download Ticket for Each Trainz Version?

I wonder about this, because I can't seem to get Trainz 12 to use the first class ticket I have for Trains 2010. A simple yes or no answer will be happily accepted; I have all kinds of time to research what I might need. I only ask to give me some incentive to begin the search for further information, or the incentive to save up my quarters to purchase a second ticket :)

At the moment I think you'll find the problem is they're jiggling the spark plug wires trying to get the engine to stop sputtering, which naturally causes more sputtering while the repair attempts are in progress.

I think he means "patience" rather than "patients" we ain't a doctors referral service. :hehe: What that means is expect oddball disconnects and failure to validate username at various times, I've been getting alternate connection problems in both TS2010 and TS12 content mangler over the past week.

Thanks for the input, and that does appear to be the case. I did nothing, except check my account info, and then made another attempt at downloading that worked fine.

There's a heck of a learning curve with all this, and until I started getting into TS 2010, my opinion of my abilities with a computer were rather high. I even made a reasonable amount of money doing programming and consulting for about 8 years, but this game has given me reason to reassess what I thought I knew :)

It has all been fun (though sometimes frustrating); after all, I was looking for something to fill in some time, and whatever else can be said about Trainz, it will definitely accomplish that, working or not!

I really appreciate this forum and the overall helpfulness and concern of everyone for each other is marvelously high.

I mainly bought TS 12 for the manual, I must admit. I have had TS 2004, Ultimate Trainz and TS 2006 before, and never really got too involved with it. Retirement makes it possible to finally use TS 2010 to go where I had hoped to go with the earlier versions.

With no organized documentation, it's been an adventure trying to learn enough to build a route. If not for these forums, I would have thrown in the towel months ago. Of course, I could probably help myself along a bit better if I would learn to look here first, THEN go try something rather than the other way around (write that down if you've just started using Trainz readers).

I still am making progress of sorts, despite having replaced all my track four times, and my forests seven times. Who knows if it will ever work as planned, but it will certainly have a far better chance with the help I know you all will give me than if I had to go it alone, even with my new manual :D

I "came over to the Dark Side" from MSTS and railsim/railworks a year ago, my first thought was "did I come at a bad time?" Hee-hee, all the hunt the KUID missing and unknown dependencies, on again off again servers, need to repair nine out of ten downloads just to get them to show up ingame so you can see what they look like, did this just happen or have users really been tolerating this for YEARS? :eek: As a route developer I sympathize, tracklaying in MSTS was tedious to figure out and really complicated, tracklaying in railsim/railworks was a breeze to learn and produced excellent results.

I'm finally getting used to Trainz surveyor, but I can't love it - I still find myself going "NO that's NOT where I wanted it, stop trying to help by bending it the way YOU think it should go! Why did you move that junction lever instead of adding a new one? Did I TELL you to move it? Now you broke the old junction, just do what I tell you and quit trying to think, you're not equipped for it!"

I found this to be a great help;

And for repairing or reskinning stuff, the tools that the game should have included;
