Dissapointed

I'm very disappointed with Auran/N3V with the progress of Trainz. It seems to me that the game isn't getting better but only worse. I've been experiencing more lagging and freezing than ever before. The patches don't even work. It's crashing more frequently than in previous versions of the game. Also the weaving cars which weren't an issue in previous versions, have all of a sudden appeared in TS12. Yes occasionally cars ran the crossing but it was rare. They still haven't gotten the bell issue fixed. All I've heard is same excuses from them. I'm just frustrated by the lack of progress. And for whatever reason, they keep rejecting my suggestions as if they're off topic, which they aren't. I know someone will jump down my throat for this but it's time we be honest here. I grade them with a D. Sorry but I just have to be honest here. I'm not bashing or saying I'm leaving or whatever, just simply I'm disappointed with the progress of the game as of right now. And I thought TS12 was going to be way better than 2009 but the only things I see better is graphics, the ability to have horn echoes, and the amount of content.

Yea, but what can you do about, it's the only one of its kind around. Look on the bright side man, TS12 is still pretty neat despite its ancient inner workings and we've got lots of pretty cool content coming out from creators both free and payware. (They're starting to use ground plane shadows!)

Yes we do have a lot of great content but we can't utilize it they way it is in real life. It's just the little things I'm worried about. They can sometimes make a huge difference.

i grade you with an F--

Okay???? I did too. It's better overall but not that much. A few things in TS12 not TS2009 is horn echos, new routes and content, graphics, gameplay and multiplayer. And just for that I give you an F ----. Haha. How about that.

So you basically are saying that TS12 is better then TS09 and has vast improvements in every area. Other than a few things TS12 is by far the best Trainz product so far.

I wish TS12 did not check for errors and thumbnails at all ... and let any asset run ... and non-compatability mode was never invented ... now that would be a cool Patch !

Watch owt' ... Speed Twees have very sharp pointy bwanch's ... you'll poke yer' eye out on one of them (be sure to wear your safety goggles when operating Twainz) !

when I had TS06, There was a point where I could use assets that had errors but then one day something happened and all those assets stoped working. confused the crap out of me!

They upped the trainzbuild line numerals in the assets config files, in the "Great DLS Clean Up" ... lol ... to force you to buy a higher version of Twainz.

If any asset with errors where allowed to run that could destabilize the game. In other words, up the chance of the game crashing. Now yes some of the warnings are silly, such as the "Texture black is a uniform color." But when you look at it, that warning is there because a system is in place to help improve game play by reducing texture size. Thus less that must be loaded, meaning more can be loaded, meaning better game play for you.

But lets look at a hypothetical situation that could very easily come up if TRS12 didn't do an error check.. Lets say I make an asset, a building. And I dont check it for errors and it works fin on my computer. Now you then download said asset, with out knowing it has errors. You then load up TRS12, it doesn't look for the errors, and you go to place the asset. Suddenly your came locks up and crashes do to some unknown error in my asset. This happens to you more then once resulting in you being unhappy.

But who do you get mad at? TRS12 for not checking to see if the asset worked and was error free? Me for making an asset that has errors?

My money is on you getting mad and posting topics how TRS12 should have had a system in place to prevent faulty assets form crashing your computer.

All these error and warning checks that TRS12 dose is to help keep the game stable, as well as ensure content creators are doing things right.

And Kris, if your unhappy with Trainz, there are two other sims out there with far fewer tools and flexibility to them. Your more then welcome to try them and see just how good we have it here in Trainz.

man a lot of the time I have the nerve to look at Kris's posts It's typically something negative or something about a route he's building, Kris... I agree with you a tiny bit... TRS12 does have some flaws but at least we have it. At least we have great content, (thanks to JointedRail) better routes, and some other things, 2009 didn't have barely any of that, It had some of the mentioned things but when you think about it, TRS12 is worth having, would you rather have an "up to date" Train Simulator game or something that's 5 to 6 years old with outdated graphics, sucky content and fewer routes? We as a community are lucky to have TRS12 and It's glory, I'm not trying to bash 2009 but just pointing some things out.

And the one thing that really upset me was the patching. And after I seeked help and did hat they recommended, it still did not work. So that's another issue. So now I've lost everything I've created and downloaded.

Backups help. I back up every thing often, and regularly.

Yea, I wish they (N3V) could be like Microsoft and get it right everytime and create a perfect product!!:hehe:

All-in-All I'm happy with TS12, but I, like most people, always want more.
