Did the Servers die yet again?

Hi: I too am retired and I have been without DLS for at least a month..This is big crock..I have a good attitude but this is getting rediculous..We all have spent good money only to get this kind of service..Blah.. :'(

40 Bucks says one of us could have better servers here in our house then this commercial business does...Glad I rushed out and got the FCT that is now going to waste and TS12 to play multiplayer.... Seems kind of ass-a-nine that they would have ALL of that on the same server, what are the chances that multiple servers made for doing different things go down at the same time?
Even if it was "maintenance" why in hell take them all down at the same time?
And if it was maintenance why were we not even notified as such?

Patience, servers are rented, in the US, plus its the weekend and N3V staff would have been asleep when the servers went down and probably unaware of a problem.

"Unable to log in to Planet Auran, please check your username and password and try again."

Actually I think it's on YOUR end, I haven't changed anything since the last time the login worked.

Doubt it seeing as how it worked yesterday and all of us just happen to be having the same issue? DOUBT IT.

Ok they are rented...That means that someone should be on call to keep them working. Correct me if I am wrong but most places that rent servers out have staff available around the clock to keep the machines from going down the tubes.
I know the websites we host at work are constantly checked and the machines are monitored, and when we get a report of a server that died, guess what? We roll out of bed and go fix it, or in the case with bigger companies there is someone already there to fix it.
Even if it is a power outage most of the good places will have some sort of power backup as power outages are never really longer then 2 hours(not counting a major fire in the area)

If you pay for that sort of service 90% of the time maintenance and all repair work must be done in a timely manor by the company renting out the server space.

Then again N3V/Auran probably went the el cheapo route with some guy in his mom's basement..

That was uncalled for....but completely understandable! I don't support criticizing Auran; but I UNDERSTAND it!

Truth is, at some point you almost have to figure that since they use their customers to make their content, the buying or renting of servers could be a fairly unorthodox arrangement as well!:hehe:

I usually don't criticize any business because well...they are a business, and apparently do better then me because well...they are going.
But frustration has prevailed at this point and I have really grown tired. I supported them with my purchase of a FCT, then with TS2010 then within months later jumped on board with TS12...

Then I get shafted yet again because someone can't be bothered to keep a server from taking a dump. A very poor business on the side of the people who manage the servers.

uh oh, did the Playstation Network hackers move on to the Trainz sites?!?
Probably not. Us Trainzers don't have the kind of money the Playstation owners do.:D We're not worth stealing from.

And I'm now getting the "invalid username or password" error here in Colorado.

Same Here, this happen every weekend after 10 multiplayer was released.
Hope this a one weekend event.

ARRGH! :)

I just got my boxed copy of TS12 today.

Oddly, the patch worked great and installed super quick. But anything outside the forums that requires a login isn't working.

Oh well. Hey Auran, give a little shock to the server hamsters.

Of course here in Australia we are blaming you damn Yanks :p

With a holiday weekend and a new product just shipped 10 days ago, it is not impossible that Servers that have handled Content Manager reasonably well for 10 years have been overwhelmed! :(

Add to that Multi Player and a crash was always going to happen :'(
I have not been able to connect for over 2 days now. And everything here has been checked three times and its definitely an Auran Server problem
Cheers
Rod

if we're all in the same boat this is noah's ark

hell i got so pissed of this morning solved first some major TS12 glitches since yesterday and finally went thru that to get now stuck on this calamity.
grrrrrrrrr.

:(

The SLOW server is affecting my connection too. I thought it was my router at first because there was a power outage due to a thunderstorm.

Then after the connection was reset, access to Auran is still slow. Now that I read this, I can see it's not my end at all!

I've got my new copy of TS12 today and wanted to register before I forgot.

John

I'm thinking the resident "Mom" at Auran pulled the plug so her holiday in the US would not be usurped by 12!:D
