Developer is now lord mayor, his top agenda is to remove the state owned rail line between Newcastle & Broadmeadow, but was not on any agenda.

Please ignore the heading about that it was a "referendum" to remove the rail line, as that paper can be biased, about this issue, so much so that they can & do allow comments that could be considered offensive (comments must be approved):
This rail line was NOT part of his agenda, even though his top agenda is to get this STATE-OWNED infrastructure removed. Their was no referenda question to ANY resident of the state regarding removal of any rail line.
