Deleting preloaded routes

I need to know if anyone could instruct me in how to delete the preloaded routes that are within Trainz?

Or if it's possible at all.

I'm interested in having all the resources go towards one specific project we are developing.

So I have no need to all the other routes within the game.

Appreciate the input.

You need to find the route/session in Content Manager, right-click it, and use Enable/Disable. If you are unsure on how to use Content Manager, I'd advise checking either a manual or the Content Manager guides on my tutorial site.

It's a lot of work , i did it also.

So does it free up resources? What is it that keeps it from being eliminated altogether? Is the program dependent on them to function?

Does it actually do anything by disabling them? I'm just looking to clean things up, and commit the ability of the program to just one project.

It does not free up resources, but can reduce clutter in the Routes screen. The reason they cannot be removed entirely is because they are in compressed archives (the .ja files) which can only be modified by a Trainz patch.

So really not worth the effort then. No visual way of just removing them, without jumping through the disabling hoops huh? Very odd indeed. Thanks

That's always been the case since TRS2006 (although UTC and TRS2004 users did have other methods available using TrainzObjectz).

I disabled all the preloaded routes in Trainz once but something happened (maybe a patch?) and they all came back so it was a great deal of wasted effort.

You caould also use the 'yellow star' in routes to show only favourites - and make the ones you don't like non-favourites.
