What is the advantage/disadvantage of Deleting assets that you do NOT use in Trainz. If I delete assets out of CM, they will not appear in the ingame menus. Does deleting them in CM have any other effect that I don't know about?

It's not advisable to delete assets unless you are sure that nothing else depends on that asset.

If I delete British Rail equipment and assets that I don't use, will that have an effect on routes that don't use that type of equipment/asset?

You sure that it definitely won't have an effect on other content? Some assets (including British content) are dependencies of other (both British and non-British) assets.

99.9999 recuring certain, "delete assets and equipment he doesn't use on routes that don't use the assets and equipment." He's not mentioned deleting dependancies of assets etc.

My reason for wanting to do this is there are A LOT of assets in the drop down menus that is "in the way" of getting to the stuff I want. I just wanted to clear out some of the stuff I will never use.
If you right click and disable in Content manager they won't appear in surveyor but still be available for anything that needs them.
Don't forget you can search the lists in surveyor and save the searches and also use the pick list.
Or you can give items keywords in Content Manager and look for them in Surveyor.

I use the pick list but there is no way to organize it. Just kind of a pain in the ass.
