Deleting a built-in asset?

Hi,
I was editing a built-in asset but the install failed, and it couldn't commit because the config file had disappeared. I was planning to reinstall the asset via TS2009, but it wouldn't let me overwrite it because it was open for edit. So how do I go about deleting it? It has to be possible, surely?

Re built in you cant delete them you can only revert them to original.
Re editing them you can open for edit in explorer and you should then see the folder in the left hand side pane you can copy this to your desktop and then close and revert the opened built in.
Now you can edit the file without it causing problems to the original built in.
If you want to use it once edited you should change the kuid number id (thats the first part of the kuid number) to yours
For example kuid:1234:5789 the 1234 is the kuid Id number or if it was kuid2:1234:5679:1 the 1234 would still be the kuid Id number
So you would change the kuid Id to your own number then save the changes, you can then open content managrer and go to file import content and browse to the desktop folder and selet it to open and be imported.
Dont forget it may need to be commited before it will work and if you want it to be part of any dependency's you will probably need to change the config file of the item you want to use it with.
You will need to change the kuid number of the item in the config txt with the one you want to use and it will need to be changed in the kuid table as well

The quickest way to make a copy of a built-in asset with your kuid so that it can be edited is to "Clone" it. It will almost certainly require some editing with Pev's utilities, eg the .texture files will need converting to .tga and .texture.txt files with images2tga.
