Dash 9 Interior

Is there a "modern" Dash 9 interior that is set at the correct height? I ran test after test, switching out the modern wide-body interiors, trying to find one that is correct. All of them are set too high.... i.e., when you put the same Dash 9 Loco next to it, and get in the cab, you are looking DOWN on the other loco.

(I hope I explained this right.)

Thanks for any help on this. It is very frustrating when you pass another Dash 9 or SD70MAc loco and you're looking down on that train when you should be seeing it straight across.

Phil C's Payware cab is perfect in this regard. I would recommend his work anyway.

EDIT: Hang on a sec, surely the height of the cab is determined by the mesh attachment points and what cab you use will make no difference?

^That's what I thought, too. But I have tried about six different cab interiors, and all are too high except for the old style (<kuid:-3:10085>) controls which is at the correct height.

^Well, this particular body it doesn't matter. I reskinned a SP Black body and made it UP and BNSF. When I use anything other than the old style controls, the view is too high. I think it's the creation itself, because I looked at some other UNSkinned bodies (BNSF, Ferromex) and they have the modern interiors and they aren't too high.

I'm ready to forget these re-skinned bodies and go back to the others because I want modern controls.

...ok...here is the long story...

 ...the (only) freeware GE desktop interior was a product of Mark Hoffman.

One of our dedicated Content Creators, SPorBUST, used the asset in his Dash-9 locomotives.

The high-profile of the cab-view was brought to light at this time...so SPorBUST re-released the cab with an approved revised attachment point set lower & since he had released several different roadnames for these engines, he featured correct hood colors for the forward in cab view(red-Santa Fe warbonnet, black-NS, green-UP, etc.)

I only found the red hood version on the download station under his kuid 113556. TrainStation has more complete freeware locomotives for downloading, dig around & download everything you can find for TRS. Try different cabs & let us know the results.

The Southern Pacific locomotives used "lark dark grey" not black...SPorBust(which means "SOUTHERN PACIFIC or BUST!," search for Author ID "SPORBUST" in CMP), has done all the locomotives for the roads you specify & did a darn good job at that!

Not into modern engines, but I downloaded a few dash 9s just now to check it out, none of them use a modern console interior. Got a KUID number for one of the models you're trying to reskin, along with one of the interiors you're trying to fix?

PON AC4400 CW - 88 2,<kuid:522774:100413>

Uses

AC44_PO&N_int,<kuid:388676:1068>

Which tycoonk4 and I tinkered with for a couple months to get the position numbers for everything to line up, as I recall the original was off to one side, too far forward and too high.

Woops, new guy bumped it and I didn't look at the dates. Apparently it was resolved somehow? I don't see the solution here?

Hang on to it...

 No offense taken.

This cab issue comes up from time to time...:hehe:

The content is still in circulation...

I know it's an old thread, but I posted those 2 cab interiors for those like me looking for good Dash9 type cabs. Those are the only 2 I've found so far for Trainz 12. All Dash 9 locos I've seen so far are all aliased to the DD40. If anyone has any better links I would appreciate that you share (Freeware as well), as the only 2 I've found are rather ancient looking as if they were from MSTS or something.

Thanks
