Hello
I'm needing to upgrade my old computer. Have been looking at CyberPower computers, and wondering if anyone around here has one or has any advice or complaints about this company. Have always had Latest Dell desktops without much trouble.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks you.

Negative (somewhat) Report:

I bought a Cyberpower through a 3rd party (Newegg, October of 2012). It worked fine for the first 4 months. It started to BSOD numerous times. Long story short, I had to replace the HD 3 times and buy my own copy of Win 7. I tried to get a refund and still have not heard back (last email sent was August of 2013). I believe that it was a faulty Motherboard that they refused to replace and kept replacing the HD instead. Customer service is EH. I've posted here a couple of times about my experiences with them. I suggest building your own comp instead like I did, yet, your choice. One favor, DO NOT GET WIN 8. It's not really meant for gaming....

This is my experience. I do not recommend their Computer Line of products. Their APCs on the other hand, are good. Yet, its all your choice.

Here is another option. I bought an iBUYPower PC through Amazon, Christmas of 2012, for $510. Intel i3 3220, Windows 8, ASROCK motherboard, Toshiba HDD, 8Gigs of RAM and a GT610 GPU. I recently upgraded the PSU to a 600W Corsair and the GPU to a GTX660 2G (about $220 more; total of $730 now). I have had NO PROBLEMS with this computer. It performs great and TS12 runs smooth as glass. I considered building my own, but when pricing the components on PC Partpicker.com, the total was almost the same. Then you have to hope you put it all together correctly and make sure it works. I'm happy with what I have and what I spent.

Good luck with yours.

New Egg also has their brand of Prebuilt PCs. I've heard good things about these as well.

www.newegg.com

and then there's Microcenter

A friend of mine has a machine from Microcenter which came with a decent Intel motherboard and an okay video card. The video card was his choice as he had me customize it further with two discrete video cards, and extra hard drives. He's not gaming or doing CAD work, but stock market and finance so his needs are different.

Anyway, the quality of the build is excellent. The wires were neatly bundled and pushed out of the way, and the case was nice and clean as well as being a decent one at that.
