Custom Livery Suddenly Fuzzy

I have some of JointedRail's excellent locomotives and reskinned them to include the logo for my fictional Union Atlantic freight railroad. It worked fine and the engines appeared sporting their new livery. But then yesterday, I reskinned another non-JointedRail MTA Cab Car. When I placed it, I noticed the logo was fuzzy. I assumed it was the car's art since I did not change the resolution in Photoshop. But I noticed that now the logos on the JR locos are also "soft" looking and not as crisp and sharp as they were previously. I did nothing to modify those locomotives at all. The original art on the engines is still fine - it's just what I had added.

I had been messing with some of my settings trying to get better frame rates, but I don't believe I changed anything that would result in this problem - and the only thing I notice it with are the reskin logos. All the other assets appear to be normal. I know sometimes there is a lag and the engine appears fuzzy and then snaps back sharp once it is done processing its appearance. But in those instances, the whole skin is fuzzy and only for a second or two. This is just my added logo and it doesn't seem to go away even after about 10 minutes.

Any ideas? This is a strange one!

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work. Now that I look closer, the built-in original skins lack sharpness too. Maybe an email to Jointed Rail is in order.

Okay, it's NOT just JR's locos. I'm noticing it on all the rolling stock. Buildings and scenery objects look okay. It has to be a Trainz problem then.

You’ve mentioned changing some settings.

I had a similar problem with some parts of the Trainz imagery which was eventually corrected by altering the “Mipmap detail level” setting on my ATI Radeon graphics card.

Don’t ask me how it worked - I had to be helped.

I know we are on different versions, but it’s the same game engine, so the solution to my problem might give you a lead. The relevant thread is here.

Glad it worked and to have been of some help.

Zachary (Retro00064), one of the masters of the technical black arts, should take the credit though.

I'd still be fumbling around like Mr Magoo without his assistance!
