Curious question about steam engines

I'm starting to get more into cab control operations for steam engines since physics in "easy mode" is rather goofy these days and had a genuine/curious question for others that run steam. Is there any way to "MU" a pair of steam engines in Trainz when double heading them in cab control mode? It's honestly a bit of work having to manually operate two steam engines/manually controlling their throttles, fuel consumption etc vs being able to operate them both in an "MU mode." are there any downloadable scripts anywhere that would make something like this possible, or am I just reaching for something thats not actually there?
