CSX Signal Upgrades

Hi all. I live in the Mid Hudson Valley, New York State. CSX just completed an update to their signals in my area, however I am not sure how they are being used to control the tracks. For example: At one point there is a left diverge off the main line. There is a new 3 light signal at this junction. Top light 3 aspect, middle light two aspect, and the bottom light 3 aspect. What are these covering ? I would think the top one is for the main line, the bottom for the left diverge, but the middle one ? If anyone can shed some light on this, no pun intended, please post. Thanks.

Its governing speed of various trains through the interlocking. The more aspects give the crews better indication based on their consist.
