Creating Products

Route Builder
The Western Maryland Thomas Sub that I’m currently building runs through Parsons W Va. The United States Leather Co had a manufacturing facility there that I’m modeling.

The route is being built using Proto Lars and Multiple Industry New for the Interactive Industry tracks. I would like to use MIN tracks for the Leather Co, but they would require four products that are used in the manufacturing of leather. The four products are “Animal Hides”, “Hemlock Bark”, “Chromium Sulfate”, and “Finished Leather”.

I would like to create these products and add them to the MIN products queue, but I haven’t the slightest idea how to go about it.

Can any of you Interactive Industry experts help me out?

Thanks, Joe

Are they visible or not?

Basically clone an existing product and change the name, but clone an error free one.

Adding to the queue again if you clone one that is in the config.txt file already then try just adding them to the queue.

First question - Do they all get transported by rail? Some industries bring items by truck and others by rail.

Second question asked by John but I would also lookup the mass of the item.

Did a search on Chromium Sulfate for example, then Chromium Sulfate railroad followed by Chromium Sulfate transportation. Only hit with information showed a page saying it was transported in 25kg bags or 20mts (???) containers (probably not the intermodal type). Find a bagged product and change the name and weight and you have Bagged Chromium Sulfate.

John & Storknest,

Thanks for the helpful advice. I cloned the four product assets, and got them to appear in the MIN product list.
However, I’m having some difficulty determining the weight of the assets. How important is this. I assume that “mass” in the config.txt file denotes a figure of weight, but I haven’t any idea how to convert “weight” to “mass”

Incidentally, they are invisible, and are transported by rail.

Thanks, Joe

It should get some product images, go to the icons. The weight and mass is equal, so if you need to set is the amount of product that can load the wagon to transport him.

Salut.

Remember what the CCG says and Bob posted because if you get American weight/mass, you need to convert it to Metric and use that number.

I would like to say thanks to all who contributed to this thread. Your input was very helpful. As a result, I was able to successfully create the four products, and as soon as I’m sure that they will work, I plan to upload them to the DLS.

Again, thanks,

Regards Joe
