Coupling a loco to a consist in TR2012

I apologize in advance, as I'm not a native english speaker. I've just got Trainz 2012, and decided I'd go through every single tutorial beforehand. I'm not interested in building anything but driving the trains.

And now I apologize again, for my question is certainly stupid for most you, I suppose. I'm on the second tutorial of Trainz 2012, and pretty much stuck ! I simply can't manage to attach the loco to the consist. I'm right at the front of Murphy' s storage, and I've tried dozens of times driving the loco to the consist parked right after Spur 1.

I've tried doing this at 1mph, 2mph, 3mph, 4mph, 5mph, to no avail.

The coupler simply won't lock, probably I'm doing some pretty basic and obvious mistake, but I can't figure it out.

Before writing here I've been through the whole of the extended manual, and a lot of foruns, only to find no reference at all regarding coupling locos to consists.

Please, some kind soul, help !!!

Hi orbitmm don't fret , I also learn every day - I know in TR10 if you go to the session and in the main menu click on 'edit session' there is a feature 'set coupler masks' - it will show couplers locked or unlocked - try unlocked that vehicles coupler and then try to continue the tutorial. I have not got TR12 so I am talking under correction.

Hi jjanmarine3. It seems there's no such option as "'set coupler masks" in TR12's menu. Anyway, as I approach the consist and bump onto its couple, no visible signs regarding the status of the coupler is displayed.

Thank you so much for your reply !

I just did as you've suggested, the loco goes right away to the consist, reduces its speed, does everything accordingly....and then, when the command is returned and I pull off the loco, it is not attached, the coupler didn't lock for some reason.

Thank you for your reply tomurban!

Orbitmm. That's very strange. I've never played that tut before so I went in and had a go. No probs. Loco couples first time and pulled away OK. I can only suggest that you have not fulfilled one of the prior obligations beforehand. Therefore I suggest you start the tut again.
Also, if you have saved the tut and restarted it, It has been known to cause problems. Best to complete in one session.

Orbitmm what is the Loco and car you are trying to coupel to...??is this the only one your haveing a problem with??

Have you patched Trainz to the latest version and installed all the content updates?

EDIT: Also, have you registered your serial number on Planet Auran? You don't seem to have it or TS2010 in your banner.
