depends on the license in the config.txt

Like Boyerm25 said about the license:

Depending on the creator, some say repaint and upload to the DLS, some say no repaints and some say nothing. If it is freely reskinnable and uplaodable in the config, it certainly wouldn't hurt to send the original creator a message saying "I repainted your stuff- it is on the DLS." and maybe send him a picture. As a creator, it is great to hear that people like your stuff enough to use it and repaint it. (I loved the first screenshot I saw of one of my repaints used by someone else, and I was EXTREMELY flattered the first time I saw something I made repainted in the screenshots section). "No repaints" is self explanatory, but beyond that, you need to ask the original creator for permission before uploading it.

And by the way, how about a screenshot???

Just a quick screen shot
OK.. I meant the logo on the loco (say that fast 3 times):p
I I used PSP v8.1 and AssetX for viewing updates.
Better Screen Shots on SS page soon.

PS still needs a little tweaking

Nice job, Gerry! Go ahead and upload it! ZapperJet has another thread when he made these available giving you all the permission you need. I forgot about these.... I need to make a few SW-8's!!!

I'm not sure, but it sounds like Gerry's talking about a copyright for the Coors logo.

I remember when MSTS was first released Union Pacific decreed that any repaints that used the UP name or logo were illegal, whether in payware or on freeware releases. They got so much bad publicity from that stunt that they backed off on it.

It's not a matter of copyright, but of trademark, but it would be prudent, in my view, to seek a permission from Coors about the use of their logo on the asset before uploading. I would do this with most any item of intellectual property of an item where that involved an item where the manufacturer was identifiable.

Good luck with that. Most big companies don't even bother to respond to a request. If you're not doing it as payware they couldn't care less. I worked for Coors for a couple of years and that was their attitude. They just looked at it as free advertising.
