Converting Trainz Classics files for Trainz 2010 Mac?

alexl102

Learning... slowly!
I've downloaded some .cdp2 files of engines I'd like to be able to run on Trainz 2010 for Mac. The only tutorial I could find was to go from 2006 to TC3.

Is it possible?

Also, other than UKTrainSim or Auran's own website for which you have to pay, where can I find free engines to download for 2010? I want a few 0-6-0s (maybe a J94 or a Terrier) and maybe some LMS/ex-LMS stock? A black 5 would be beautiful...

I don't know if you can get such things tho. Thanks in anticipation.

First, register your Trainz version. Go to www.auran.com/ then go to Planet Auran, then go to the Serial Numbers page, and register your serial number there.

Paul Hobbs (username paulhobbs) has a very nice Terrier on the Download Station.

If you had the PC version you could buy the Settle & Carlisle pack from Auran/N3V Games, and on the support site there is a free Black 5.

Personally, I'd like more LMS locos. The LMS is neglected by most of the freeware Trainz modellers. The GWR and SR are well represented, but they are my two least favourite of the Big Four. Two TS2009 and up specification locos from the LMS that are free on the DLS are the Princess Royal class and Big Bertha, the Lickey Incline banker.

I'm not sure about the CDP problem though.

Kieran.

Thanks CaptainKMan. I'll do that now.

If anyone else can solve the .cdp problem, I'd be really grateful :)

Hi

The locos and rolling stock on the TC3 and S&C websites will need dependencies from either TC3 or the S&C 2009 add on to show up in any version. I don't have a Mac but I believe the Mac version is based on TS2010 so it should have a few decent steam locos included (Fowler 4F, Jinty etc). Once you have registered your copy of Trainz you will then be able to access the download station (DLS) which has over 200,000 free assets on it.

Once you can access the DLS, search for authors lielestosbrat, skipper1945, jayholland and paulhobbs who all have high quality models on there. There are many others who I can't remember at the moment but I'm sure someone else will come up with them. For payware Paul Hobbs website http://www.44090digitalmodels.co.uk/ has a J94 amongst other models and http://www.gplocomotives.com/Home.php has a large selection of former LMS locos available. For ex LNER locos there is http://darlington-works.weebly.com/ These are three that come to mind immediately but there are others.

Regards

Brian

Thanks so much Brian, that's really helpful.

My problem now is that Planet Auran won't recognise that I have Trainz Mac- because I bought it from the App Store it has no serial number. :/
