Content Manager

Hi,

I have just bought Trainz: The Complete Collection. I successfully loaded TRS 2006 onto my laptop, which has Vista, but the content manager on TRS 2006 will not work and TRS 2004 and the Ultimate Trainz Collection will not load onto my laptop.

Is it because Trainz does not work with Vista? Would I have to load it onto a computer with XP, or is something wrong with the Trainz software.

1. Content Manager is possibly the number one most disliked piece of software after Windows ME.
2. Content Manager is unfixable, much like a castrated dog.
3. Laptops are not reccommended.
4. Vista is not popular amongst the older generations on this forum, e.g. exrailwayman.
5. People on this forum get cheeeeesed offfff when people don't search first. I dont.
6. Try running CMP in compatability mode.

TRS2004 and UTC are not officially "vista compatible" - you may have more luck if you load them to a location outside of program files (e.g. into C:\Games\Auran\*).

CMP needs OpenGL. On Vista, you need to upgrade your graphics drivers in order to get OpenGL support. Find out who made the graphics chipset (e.g. ATI or nVidia), go to their website, and get the latest drivers for the graphics chip. Once these are installed, Content Manager ought to start up OK.

Had this issue earlier today when I loaded UTC for my son on the Vista machine. It kept crashing until I switched it to DirectX and set it to run in compatability mode for XP. It seems to be running fine now.
