Sounds like you are ahead of me re PC set up! Can only suggest that, unless there are features in 2009/2010 that you really like, you go and treat yourself to TC3. It is obviously based around UK routes but that can easily be changed as you probably know.

Can't really compare several Trainz version, as I only have Trainz2009.
However, will keep TC3 in mind.
