Content manager (V3.6) goes through the motions, but doesn't complete the download. The progress bar fills up, the download speed gradually reduces to zero (I presume the average is being recalculated) but nothing happens beyond that. It can sit for hours and there is no completion.
The problem seems to be restricted to updated assets. For instance, I just downloaded
Flatcar 40ft PRR,<kuid2:87783:1007:1>
and it zipped straight through without any problem. Then I tried
Flatcar #58 scenery,<kuid2:63290:28013:1>
and it behaved as above - gets to the end of the download but just stays there and never marks the asset as downloaded. If I stop the download the asset is not in the database.
TADDaemon console doesn't tell me anything except that I am successully logged in.
The difference is that there is no prior version of <kuid2:87783:1007:1> listed on the DLS, but there is <kuid:63290:28013>. There's also a difference in the upload dates, but I think the problem is to do with the versions. That's because I first started seeing the problem when I tried to download the most recent set of asset updates. No 'Out of Date' items that I have tried will download properly.
If I try and download both versions of 63290:28013 then the out-of-date version is removed from the download list (as I would expect), the current version downloads, then it stops before finishing - exactly the same as if I download the current version only.
If I repeat the download (either on its own, or both versions) then the download progress indicator goes straight to the end and everything stops. So it knows it has already done the download, but it still won't finish the process and update the database.
I have done multiple simple and extended database repairs with no errors reported (just the location warnings) and there are no uncommitted assets.
<kuid2:63290:28013:1> can be downloaded from the DLS using FTP, and updates into the database by dropping it onto CM. But I sure hope someone has a suggestion for getting CM to work properly, because that's by far the easier way to do it.
