Content Appreciation Thread

We have many threads that are asking for this and asking for that so why not create a thread for appreciating the content we have already got, and thanking the content creators who work tirelessly to provide us with high-quality add-ons for our simulator.
Firstly, I would like to thank Skipper1945 for his contributions. He has been creating since long before I joined these forums and as made some top-class content. Items that warrant particular merit ar his unrebuilt Battle of Britian Class and "City of Truro", a loco which I find myself driving often! I understand he's been taking a break for a bit so I hope he's enjoying himself! He also has custom cabs on all his locos, which make them all the more realistic.
Secondly, edh6 deserves a mention for single-handedly modeling the entire fleet of the NWNGR, and is working away at the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland too! His P2 is also excellent, as is his Leek and Manifold Tank (BTW, I am working on that route, I'm away from my Trainz PC atm but when I get back I shall continue plotting the course of the line). He is currently working on a IoMR Beyer-Peacock 2-4-0T, which I'm sure will exceed even the high standards of the P2.
Lastly, thanks to Trainboi1 for all the locos and stock he has made, I can't pick out an absolute favourite but the V2, SDJR 2-8-0 and the K3 are right up there. The US Narrow Gauge locos are excellent too, one day I shall get down to making a route for them!
Honourable mentions are Jayholland, JointedRail, PWeiser, Paulz Trainz and the Settle & Carlisle team who have all contributed a lot to my enjoyment of Trainz.

So then, what creators would you like to thank for their contributions? No gimme-pigging on this thread, reasonable suggestions to creators are acceptable but not "I would like x to make x" type posts please, they always lead to fighting.

I remember making such a thread ... It didn't go too far ... there are hundreds of thousands of creators that need to be recognized, as being the great ones !

My List

Ben Neal (bdaneal) of Subpar Productions has played a key role in creating American steam locomotives. 99% of all American steam locomotives are reskins of his locomotives, and reskins of them are found on several third-party sites.
TUME should be thanked for his seasonal creations. His Milwaukee Road catenary is my go-to catenary, as it is easy to use, once you understand it. His switches have found their way onto several of my routes.
Magicland should be thanked also. He had made a large variety of rolling stock and locomotives that can be easily reskinned.
N8phu deserves some credit also. He has brought a majority of SPORBUST's, cnr's, and several other's content fixed up and updated for TS2009/TS2010.
Trainboi1 has also helped increase the number of steam locomotives available, particularly his narrow gauge content.
Prowler901's website has a large variety of Colorado narrow gauge locomotives and rolling stock, most of which isn't available elsewhere.
JointedRail has also provided a large amount of content that has crept into a majority of screenshots found on the Forums.
Davesnow has provided us an insurmountable amount of buildings, locomotives, and rolling stock for us that can be easily reskinned.
Maddy25 also deserves credit for providing YARN roads and plenty of industrial content.
Streadway doesn't get must credit, but he has taken Maddy25's YARN roads and made them better and added even more roads that make up his YARNish series of roads, which are my de facto standard.
BNSF50 seems to have been forgotten, but his large line of ATLS-controlled railroad crossings have allowed users to be released from the usual 90 degree, 45 degree railroad crossings.
Boat has to be thanked for coming up with the ATLS and ASB (Active Signal Box) systems.
LLJ's LARS and ProtoLARS industries have been in routes all over the Trainz community.
Bendorsey, his bridges, and other content, have been found on several routes included in many routes included in various editions of Trainz.
Philskene has provided us many gritty, urban industrial routes, and one of the pioneers of the Model Trainz phenomenon.
Mcguirel should also be thanked for providing us her line of UltraTreez and other content that can be found on many routes.
Lastly, though this could cause problems, is Auran/N3V, without whom we wouldn't have Trainz, the Download Station, the Forums, and all the content that is included in each edition of Trainz and on the Download Station.

I appreciate ANYONE who makes an effort to create content instead of starting another "I WANT THIS" thread.

I've never been called "oversensitive", but pretty sure I speak for a lot of CCs in that it's kind of hard not to feel slighted when you see post after post of favorite authors and not even get an honorable mention.

As if the DLS issues content obsolescence issues aren't demotivational enough.

Of course I appreciate everyone who has contributed, but this thread is for people to thank their favourite creators and sites. Hopefully nobody will feel slighted. :)

I agree. As someone who has struggled to make stuff I appreciate those who have helped me along the way. But, like Dave, what I do like to see is younger and, perhaps not so young, users trying to make their own content. Only then will you appreciate how difficult it can be.

Very true. I remember 2 years back when I began learning the process, and though blender was VERY hard, and though Sketchup was much easier. Now I find that Blender is easy, and sketchup is MUCH harder. Even Gmax/3DSmax I find hard, but then again, I've only taken the time to learn both Sketchup and Blender, and very little Gmax/3DSmax.

Morning All --

Honestly, and with a warm smile, I can't never single anyone out, because I believe that every item ever created that is stored at the DLS is unique within itself! Each piece is different, each piece has an identity in your layouts / routes ... each piece has a unique finger print! In other words, my appreciation goes to all creators, who have spend some time away from the real world to create items for us all to share and displayed in creative manners, where one can simply say seeing that screenshot! "Wow, sir, that set up is beautiful!"

Ish

Hopefully nobody will feel slighted. :)

Not at all on this side of Alberte! But boasting a bit :p when I first opened T:ANE I felt honestly legitimately flattered when I noticed some (just a few) humble assets of mine have overcome (and gone through) the unforgiving passing of time. They are still there, incredibly! :p

The incredulous but flattered side of Alberte :hehe:
