Consists

Well I have bit the bullet and bought into Trains 22 and Plus. The install went fine. I have been exploring Surveyor 2 and found a couple of available videos helpful. I particularly like the more user friendly TurfFX. Obviously its going to be a learning curve. I just hope one thing, they don't do away with Classic Surveyor in the future! For some things it still feels slicker. One question I have - I can't work out how you create and save consists in Surveyor V2. Any pointers in the right direction would be welcome.

Hold the shift key down while clicking on the members of the new consist. Then click on the tiny icon above one vehicle and choose the Save to Consist Asset command.

Edit: Now the trick is finding your newly created consist when you want to use it again. In the Asset windows, choose the Trains filter and search for the name you gave it. I strongly recommend using a naming scheme that makes them easy to find. I use "My Consist ..." for the name of my consists.

Thank you for that. Got it. I think the 'Classic' way is actually slicker, hence I hope we don't ultimately lose it! Like you, I have a naming convention that keeps all my consists in one easy to find group.

Glad I could help the both of you. I haven't checked to see if the selection tool will select the whole consist at once. That would be nice for long consists.
