Congratulations to the British & Irish Lions

Hi Robd
I second That. They Ausis was never really in it and to say they lost the match because their kicker slipped is whinging, he should learn to stand up as all of us Brits do in the first stages of childhood.

Bill

Yes. Let's hope that the 2nd and 3rd test are victories for the Lions as well and the game with the Melbourne Rebels results in victory for the Lions.

First off, Bill, that's a load of dribble. Our Primary kicker was concussed in the first 17 seconds (by a high tackle which wasn't paid, mind you) and we lost 14 points because of haphazard kicking. Don't you think 14 points could've changed the game? Plus, this British standing up junk? I've seen many British fall over for no reason (mostly in the EPL, but that's expected, right?)

Secondly, I went to the Rebels game and the Rebels were playing with a second tier side for the majority of the game (since the game meant nothing towards premiership points) and to be honest, I was expecting more from the Lions. They won by 5 converted tries, but they were up against a 3-year old side who weren't playing their best XV

Jamie

I'd just like to bump this thread and ask for your British excuses?

For the rest of the world, Australia (the Wallabies) beat the British and Irish Lions 16-15 in a nailbiter, and for those who think rugby is a girl sport, there was a helluva lot of blood (from cuts and concussions and hits)

Hi everybody.
Well congratulations to the Ausis on that close-run victory though I have to admit that I did not see the match as we are working all the weekend doing a safety audit/investigation at a huge distribution centre in Kent which has had more than a few problems in that field. With any luck we should be through here tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) so hopefully I will be able to watch the match on catch up TV at home on Monday.

I understand from seeing the news here at the hotel that it was a real “blood and guts affair” with it once more going to the last session of play in the match so I very much envy everyone who was able to watch it, but their someone’s got to keep the world going while you lot sit on your backsides(LOL).

I also see from the news that we have another Ausi-Brit clash on Monday with this new Australian youngster (can’t think of his name at the moment) playing Andy Murray in the tennis at Wimbledon. Undoubtedly, our Andy will wipe the floor with him to make up for our loss over there in the rugby and with the Ashes to come there will be plenty of opportunities for revenge.

Of course there is still the deciding match of the series to be played next weekend when hopefully I shall be free to watch. Anyway, those who saw and enjoyed the match please post your comments on the game with regard to whether it was a good or bad match in terms of tactics etc as there are three of us here from the business who would be interested. we are just going down to the restaurant for dinner and then gathering in the bar to watch the Rolling Stones at Glastonbury (my generation)

Hey…Hey…Hey that’s what I say... I can’t get no satisfaction....no...no...no.
Hope nobody takes my comments too seriously as anybody who knows me also knows I love a good laugh and whind-up.

Bill

It was a hard game, few line-breaks and a lot of penalties conceded (25 I think) and a lot of forward pick-and-go with heavy players hitting heavy players. My my, your kicker is good, that halfpenny pommy (he's not good enough to be worth 3/4 of a penny, if you'll pardon the terrible pun) but ours was able to convert when it mattered

that'd be tomic you're referring to, he's actually just a drama queen and a show off (aren't all tennis-ists)

Going on the last two tests, the result of the 3rd test is too close to call.

I wouldn't mind watching the matches, but I have little incentive to add to Sky's already bulging coffers.

Yes well done indeed after 16 years i think it was about time you boys stepped up lol, Well done though lets see what happens next time.
Mick.

I think a 41 - 16 victory is more than a step up, more like a sound thrashing! Yes, there's always a next time.

A real test for the British Lions would be the Boks or the All Blacks, it is a very good team with every player having top class rugby skills.

I'd love to see a ANZAC team vs the Lions :D - it'd be on equal ground and we would destroy them, which is probably why it hasn't happened.
