Congratulations to overkill650 he's been offered a job with CSX!

Trainzing since 12-2003
I received an email from overkill650 (Angelo). He has been offered a full-time position with CSX. If you all recall, a few weeks ago he had asked about employment within the rail industry.

Well anyway, congratulations to him. Let's hope he passes the medical exams and he's hired on.

Sweet! Can't beat that. Let's hope he's safe out there, it's a dangerous industry. Certainly a great chance at a good career.

Mike

in these turbulent days that is amazing good news

Roy:cool:

My thinking too. And the fact that he listened to us, and in particular to me regarding interviews in general. I passed on to him some interviewing techniques, which have worked for me 99.99998% of the time. I tend to get every job I apply for unless there's some other circumstance that makes it not happen. I figured with these odds, it's worth a lesson for someone :D

Anyway, I really am happy for him.

John

My congrats to Angelo also.

I hope the few things I suggested, and John also, helped.

Happy to see some good news.

Be safe Angelo.

Regards,
Ron

Hired out as an engineer??? That's a new one... Best of luck reguardless!

Hard to believe I've been at if for almost 3 years now.

daily driving to work is probably more dangerous

guess better a good job at a dangerous industry than no job anywhere else.

driving these days is not about skill, discipline and good manners just about avoiding being hit by brainless idiots terrorizing the world's roads these days:hehe:, anywhere anytime:eek:

Congratulations indeed. It may not be the best of times to be hired at a new job, but most employers are not bemoaning the lack of applicants, they are bemoaning the lack of QUALIFIED applicants. The unfortunates that have lost their jobs during this economic disaster of the last few years were the ones that business thought it best to let go. They were not going to see their best employees get canned, were they?
Of course, other lost jobs en-mass due to no fault of their own, but the pool of capable candidates has gotten shallow none the less.

Ed,

I've been seeing a lot of less than capable candidates applying for the tech job opening I have at work. Man, oh man, where did these people come from? In some ways, I hate to say it, but I wonder how they actually had a job in the first place!

The way I can see this is Angelo showed to the managers at CSX that he has the initiative to work well and try hard. This alone is a great quality to see in a new hire, and in particular a young person just out of school. Let's hope he can last through the REDI treatment, I mean training classes!
